Power & Performance
The Jeep Compass can be configured to suit a range of driving styles. There’s a front-wheel drive 2.0 litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Petrol fans can also opt for a 172hp 2.4 litre unit, but those who want to enjoy the off-road potential of the Compass would do better with the diesel range.
The diesel range includes 2.0 litre and 2.2 litre units, both of which offer more power for those challenging off-road tracks. There’s also a choice of two electronically controlled four-wheel drive systems. Freedom Drive I offers full-time four-wheel drive with locking capabilities, whilst Freedom Drive II is capable of a 19:1 gear reduction for reliable performance on demanding terrain.
Transmission is also available in the form of an advanced automatic CVT gearbox for enhanced fuel economy and more dependable off-road performance. There’s also integrated stability control and advanced brake technology designed to allow the Jeep Compass to take the wilderness in its stride.
Comfort & Convenience
The Jeep Compass is nothing if not versatile. A 2000kg tow potential and extensive storage space entail that wherever you go – whatever you do – you’ll have plenty of room for your equipment and luggage, with first-class levels of personal space for everyone.
There’s also an impressive range of equipment designed to make your drive easier and more enjoyable. Your infotainment needs can be controlled via an intuitive dashboard mounted touch-screen with USB and Bluetooth Connectivity. Higher trims benefit from leather upholstery, heated front seats, a part-electric driver’s seat adjustment and even a six disc CD autochanger.
But even at entry level you can expect to find alloy wheels, air-conditioning, electric windows, cruise control and an MP3 socket.
