The Mercedes B Class comes with a choice of two gearboxes. Standard models feature a 6-speed manual transmission, whilst 7G-DCT 7-speed automatic transmission is also available. The latter innovatively offers seamless gear changes by skipping gears when necessary to achieve optimum engine speeds.

Power & Performance
There are two petrol engines (both 1.6 litres, producing 120 or 154bhp), and two diesel engines (1.8 litres, producing 109 or 136bhp) available on the new Mercedes B Class. All generate plenty of torque down low and acceleration is very responsive.
The Mercedes B Class was built with efficiency as a hallmark. All models, as standard, are fitted with innovative measures designed to drastically improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. These include an ECO stop/ start system, which cuts the engine when stationary.
The B Class handles well and steering is precise and light. The ride is comfortable, helped along by the ADS (Adaptive Damping System) that it employs.
