Power & Performance
The Volkswagen Eos comes with a choice of three engines, each of which has achieved that rare middle-ground between high-performance and impressive economy.
The petrol-powered 1.4 TSI 160PS comes with 6-speed manual transmission and has a top speed of 134mph. Meanwhile, the 2.0 TSI 210PS is capable of up to 146mph and is available with either 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic DSG transmission.
Perhaps top of the bunch, though, is the diesel-powered 2.0 TDI 140PS. Fitted with BlueMotion Technology, it comes with such systems as automatic start/stop and brake energy recuperation. Not only does this cut fuel consumption, it also significantly reduces the amount of harmful emissions. As a result, it’s capable of up to 67.3mpg on a combined cycle, with CO2 emissions coming in as low as 125g/km.
The 2.0 TDI 140PS is available with either 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic DSG transmission.
