Power & Performance
The Volkswagen Touran is available in three different models with a choice of nine possible engine configurations depending on the model.
In the 2012 Parkers New Car Awards, the Touran proved victorious in the people carrier category when judges recognised the car’s fantastic ability to make the most of every drop of fuel – be it petrol or diesel.
This excellent economy is best sampled in the three available BlueMotion engines: The petrol-powered 1.2 TSI 105PS and the diesel powered 1.6 TDI 105PS and 2.0 TDI 140PS.
BlueMotion Technology incorporates such systems as automatic start/stop and brake energy recuperation to cut not only fuel consumption, but also harmful emissions. As a result, the Volkswagen Touran is capable of up to 61.4mpg on a combined cycle.
Transmission is 6-speed manual as standard. However, the automatic Direct Shift Gearbox is available in some models in either 6 or 7-speed configurations.
