Bentley Unveil Trio of Luxury Cars In Detroit
At the time of writing, Bentley are really, really happy. 2013 was, for them, a record year. They sold 10,120 cars, meaning that their global deliveries had increased to 19%. This is a double-digit growth for the fourth consecutive year.
But on top of that, they're utterly delighted to introduce in North America, for the very first time, the Bentley Continental GT V8 S.
Yes, Bentley have chosen the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit to present their most stylish and luxurious grand tourer to the good people of North America. Alongside the Continental GT V8 S, they also presented the Bentley Flying Spur, which they introduced as “the world's fastest four-door luxury saloon”, and their pride and joy, the Muslanne.
The new Bentley Continental GT V8 S model is available as both a coupe and a convertible. It's been engineered to deliver an even more thrilling driving experience from the already-phenomenal 4-litre twin-turbo V8 powertrain.
The engine now develops 528PS, or 521bhp at 6,000 rev/min. The peak torque of 680Nm is achieved at just 1,700 rev/min. It's matched with a close-ratio ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, resulting in effortlessly exhilarating high-performance with incredible acceleration and a beautifully smooth delivery of power.
Capable of reaching 0-60mph in just 4.3 seconds and with a top speed of 192mph, the Bentley Continental GT V8 S is one of the fastest and most desirable luxury GT models in the world.
Joining the Continental GT V8 S at Detroit was the new Bentley Flying Spur. A high-tech, gorgeously sculpted luxury performance sedan, the new Bentley Flying Spur offers an irresistible combination of athletic performance, alluring design and the last word in driver and passenger comfort.
The immaculate interior features a host of high-end materials, including generous proportions of leather and wood, and truly state-of-the-art acoustic and electronic technologies. Available with full Wi-Fi connectivity and an optional Rear Seat Entertainment suite, the Bentley Flying Spur has been designed to make work, rest and play as easy as possible whilst on the road.
