Drag Action At Top Gear Live
Anybody hoping to see the “cannot be unseen” sight of Jeremy Clarkson in drag is going to be gutted – the drag in question is of the racing variety. Of course it is.
Yes, Top Gear Live is to host what they’re describing as “an enviable mix of motoring madness” – Generation Drag Racing will be a matter of course at Birmingham’s NEC and London’s ExCeL next month.
It’ll be the first time drag racing has formed part of the itinerary and it will see past greats and current favourites going head-to-head in the indoor arena.
For example, the British icon of the Sixties – the Mini Cooper MK1 – will take on its modern counterpart – the John Cooper Mini. Meanwhile, the Hyper Jaguar XJ220 supercar (with a top speed of 223mph) will go against the XKR-S “Big Cat” (Pictured).
Ford will also take to the arena when Clarkson’s former 2-litre turbo-charged Ford Escort RS Cosworth will have its mettle tested when it challenged the current 300bhp MKII Focus RS. Ooh!
Top Gear Live’s sounding quite exciting, isn’t it? You get a lot of bang for your buck, too: As well as the 60-minute Live Action Arena with the three presenters, visitors will get a double dose of action, with a separate 80-minute spectacular on the indoor track.
