Honda Announce Goodwood Festival of Speed Plans
Honda have revealed what they’ll be bringing to the petrolhead party that is the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
In collaboration with Racing Bug Motorsport, they will endearingly allow for visitors to take on the infamous Goodwood Hillclimb themselves – albeit on a much smaller scale.
They will challenge visitors to navigate a remote controlled Honda Civic on a scaled-down version of the Hillclimb using real steering and pedal controls.
Going head to head against Honda BTCC drivers Matt Neal and Gordon “Flash” Sheddon, for some this might prove to be even better than the real thing.
On a similarly quirky note, Honda also plan on bringing some lawn mower action to proceedings.
Guests can compete on a 20 metre course in an attempt to be crowned the ultimate Honda lawn mower racing champion at the end of the weekend.
Also on the Honda stand will be a specially designed “Pit Stop” chill-out area. Creating a serenity entirely at-odds with the action taking place on the rest of the site, here guests will be able to kick back and relax in a deck chair.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs between 28 June and 1 July 2012.
