The last Mini Convertible is rolled of the production line in Oxford.
The Mini Convertible has become something of a modern classic since its introduction in 2004. 164,000 cars have been produced and all those sold have been loved by their owners. Now Mini have finished making the last one of this production line.
It has been sold in countries all over the world. Mainly in the UK, USA, and Germany, but even in Scandinavia, China and Russia. People are always captivated buy the stylish two door convertible with the classic Mini heritage. The last one was reserved by a lucky man in America who was delighted to get the last one.
The initial number to be produced was predetermined and now Mini has focused efforts onto the Mini and Mini Clubman due to spiralling demand. At the Oxford plant, employees said a rather emotional farewell to the MINI Convertible. “For us, this is the end of an era”, said Plant Director Oliver Zipse. “It is a great joy to build a car and know exactly how much fun customers will have with it”.
The Mini Convertible has won awards for its strong residual value, which allows us to offer excellent leasing prices currently starting from £212.25 plus VAT. However, with these models no longer being made demand is going to sky rocket and so will the prices.
