“What underpins Mac Motorcycles‘ philosophy is the belief that the riding experience and the stories that go with motorcycle journeys seem to have been hijacked by technology and plastic,” says Ellis Pitt, the man behind the upstart British motorcycle maker that’s just unleashed details on four planned custom bikes.

As much as we appreciate the amazing two-wheeled machines coming out of the established brands these days, there’s certainly room for a new manufacturer focusing solely on design and simplicity.

There are four separate designs from Mac Motorcycles, all based on the air-cooled 500cc single-cylinder engine from the Buell Blast. We’re a little behind the times when it comes to current British slang, so we’ll let the company describe its own bikes:

There are 4 different models; ‘Spud‘, for dossing about on, ‘Ruby‘, the motorcycle equivalent of ‘the girl-next-door’, ‘Pea Shooter‘, for squirting to your favourite pub and gassing with your mates and the ‘Roarer‘, a modern-day dinosaur-chaser!

We don’t mind admitting that we’re smitten with all four of these designs in pretty much equal measure, though we particularly dig the raised exhaust of the Pea Shooter. Our only gripe is the price, which at £8-10,000 ($12-16K) strikes us as a bit high for a machine powered by the unassuming thumper engine from Buell. See the official press release after the break.
