BMW develop the new X5 Security packed with secure features.
The new BMW X5 security is designed to keep the passengers and their belongings safe from all manner of attacks. This new model will defend against threats if robbery, kidnapping and carjacking for example. Research shows that robberies target the belongings in the car rather than passengers. Whilst the X5 security concentrates on this all round security is paramount.
The windows feature circumferential safety glazing that is designed to withstand impact attacks such as clubbing the windows. They are also laminated to prevent glass shards falling on passengers should they break.
The X5 security comes into its own with its armoured body shell. The car features VR4 ballistics protection a recognised standard in firearm protection and can withstand guns up to .44 magnum, .357 magnum or 9mm Lugers. Door joints and pillars are also protected to not allow any weak points where bullets could penetrate the passenger cabin.
As personal belongings are often the main target by criminals the BMW X5 Security features a fully armoured boot. The two-part boot lid is fully armoured and creates a safe storage area for valuable goods.
If under threat an attacker may attempt to stop your vehicle by puncturing or shooting your tyres to deflate them. This vehicle uses BMW Safety Tyres which can run for 50 km at speeds of 80 km/h whilst deflated.
If an attacker approaches your vehicle whilst stationary there is an intercom so you can communicate with them without opening your door or window. It is also fitted with high quality camera systems which can monitor the front and back of the vehicle displayed on the fantastic BMW iDrive central console. This can also be used to assess the distance of objects when reversing or, using the side view cameras in the bumpers, peer round corners in car parks or narrow driveways.
An assault alarm in subtly positioned on the central console behind a secret cover which when triggered will automatically lock doors and windows and sound an audible and visual alarm.
All these extra features would normally impede another vehicle however the X5 security is equipped with all the latest intelligent driver assistance technology to co-ordinate your vehicle. It has a brand new adaptive chassis to cope with the extra weight and still produce a dynamic drive. In addition it will still do 0-62 mph in just 7.5 seconds and is electronically limited to 155 mph.
Finally all this extra design is completely indistinguishable from the average BMW X5 for discrete protection.
This model is set to be produced in North and Central America soon and may be available in the UK later next year. To view the latest leasing deals from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts please follow this link.
