Car hire terms and conditions vary depending on the car rental agent, the hire car and the country. It is always wise to thoroughly examine the specific rental conditions relating to the quotation you have been given before taking out an agreement.

The Collision Damage Waiver relates to your liability for any damage caused to the rental vehicle is relinquished if it is involved in a collision. The waiver is limited to a certain amount and often excludes glass, tyres and any towing. The waiver usually carries an excess of a certain amount for which the renter will be liable to pay.
The Vehicle Theft Waiver removes or reduces the renter's liability for the theft or attempted theft of a rented vehicle. Depending on the waiver and the contract, the renter may liable to pay a certain amount of the value of the vehicle damaged or stolen, for example the first £2,000 of the damage.
SAFETY TIP: Nationwide Vehicle Contracts recommends that you remove the identifying tag that is usually on the key ring of the vehicle and store it away from the vehicle.
If the rental vehicle is stolen and the renter cannot return the key for whatever reason, the renter may then become liable for the full cost of the vehicle.
Every country has a minimum amount of insurance cover needed for someone to be permitted to drive. This covers the renter's liability for any damage caused to other people and/or other people's property and is usually limited to a maximum of €1,000,000. Depending on the insurance contract, there may be excess that the renter is liable over the value of the insurance.
At some premium locations or airports, a fee is charged to cover the costs of services.

Refers to a charge applied by rental companies to cover the cost of vehicle licensing.
Many other companies charge for mileage above an agreed amount but Nationwide Vehicle Contracts offer unlimited mileage included in our rates.
All car rental agents have breakdown assistance should the renter require it. It is advised to ask at the rental firm's desk for the recovery contact number and details when you take out the vehicle.

It is the responsibility of the customer to cancel any other ancillary product that they may have purchased in conjunction with their vehicle reservation. E.g. Loss damage waiver excess reimbursement insurance through third parties like Mondial. In the event that you cancel or amend a credit or debit card booking, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts will not be liable for any monetary losses you incur as a result of change in exchange rates between booking and cancelling.
