Why Lease The A1 Hatchback?
For a start, one of the most important things about the Audi A1 is that it is an AUDI - meaning that all the kudos and stature that comes with driving an Audi comes with it too.
Generously supplied in the standard specification department, and with an excellent choice of both petrol and diesel engines to choose from (with the 138bhp 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine of particular note), the A1 is a small car in a big world yet still hold its own amongst the big fish in that particular pond.
In the supermini market , the Audi A1 is aesthetically the right choice for those high-flyers in the city who need both fuel economy and ease of parking, along with a touch of acceleration when required - and the further up the A1 scale you go, the more you find that these needs are met. And along with the wide range of customisation options, trim levels and engine choices in both size and type, the Audi A1 certainly holds its own.
Audi A1 Key Features
• Updated technology including Stop/Start
• Wide choice of petrol engines and transmissions
• Economy as high as 80.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 92g/km
• Free from road tax at certain levels
• Generously specified
Power & Performance
Available in a range of both diesel and petrol engines, the Audi A1 offers economy in both fuel and emissions, with the small 1.0 or 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engines recommended for both comfort and handling in the city environment with acceleration in the latter up to 7.8 seconds to 62mph from start.
With the 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine, figures of 80.7mpg for fuel economy and 92g/km for emissions can be attained, especially useful for long motorway trips.
Most Audi A1 versions are fitted with a six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic automatic gearbox with the exceptions being the 1.0-litre TFSI and 1.6-litre TDI which feature five speed manual gearboxes, but overall it is the enjoyable ride in what can only be considered a grown-up car that will impress most of all.
