Why Lease The 500X?
For fans of the Fiat 500 who want all that is entailed in a small SUV, the Fiat 500X is a good choice when considering against the likes of its nearest competitors: the Nissan Juke, the Renault Captur, the Peugeot 2008 and the Vauxhall Mokka.
Primarily a fun-to-drive family car, the Fiat 500X is equally at home when off-roading and certainly looks like it does too with rugged looks one of its main attractions on certain models, along with a fine range of both diesel and petrol engines.
Sharing parts with the Jeep Renegade, the Fiat 500X offers a good size and some low running costs, whether you choose the Pop, Pop Star or Lounge urban driving models or the more rugged Cross and Cross Plus models for more adventure.
Apart from the basic 1.6-litre E.torQ petrol engine in the entry-level model, all 500X models are powered by Fiat's MultiAir petrol and MultiJet diesel engine technology in various power outputs, all of which help towards some impressive handling as well as keeping running costs low.
Fiat 500X Key Features
• Off-roading capability in certain models with four-wheel drive availability
• A good choice of petrol or diesel power
• Up to 68.9mpg fuel economy and just 109g/km CO2 emissions
• Low running costs
• A fun-to-drive family SUV
Power & Performance
Although the entry-level 1.6-litre E.torQ petrol engine is considered merely adequate, there are turbocharged 1.4-litre MultiAir petrol and 1.6-litre MultiAir versions in the same bracket, with two diesel engines also available - a 1.6-litre MultiJet with 120bhp and a 2.0-litre MultiJet with 140bhp.
The 1.6-litre 120bhp MultiJet diesel offers fuel economy of a particularly impressive 68.9mpg (with emissions of just 109g/km) and also uses turbocharging to help with the economy and emission levels, with all models programmed to perform well on both motorways and city and country roads, handling well for an SUV.
