Jaguar F-Pace Review 2021

With its striking good looks, classy interior and broad engine range, it's easy to see why the Jaguar F-Pace is a popular lease choice when it comes to choosing a family-friendly crossover.

Recently refreshed in 2020, the F-Pace remains a front-runner in the mid-sized premium SUV class, taking on rivals such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC

Our Jaguar F-Pace review covers:

Jaguar F-Pace Key Features

  • Handsome exterior with new LED lights, enlarged grille and re-profiled body
  • Classy interior with 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen as standard
  • Choice of two petrol, three diesel and a plug-in hybrid powertrain
  • 650-litre boot with 40/20/40 split rear seats
  • Wide range of models including the S, R-Dynamic SE, R-Dynamic HSE and SVR

Design, Practicality and Boot Space

The F-Pace is arguably one of the best-looking SUVs on the market, with the latest refresh enhancing its already handsome exterior. Subtle updates to the front LED lights, enlarged grille, re-profiled bodywork, and new LED tail-lamps help make the F-Pace stand out on the road. A range of personalisation options is also available to help you individualise your car.

Inside, the F-Pace boasts plenty of room up front with loads of leg and knee room for driver and passengers. Space in the back isn't bad either, providing you avoid the full-length panoramic roof that restricts headroom.

There's lots of storage space, including a decent-sized glovebox, large front door pockets, and other cubbies in the centre console and under the front armrest.

At the rear, F-Pace's 650-litre boot is bigger than any of its key rivals, expanding to 1,740 litres when the 40/20/40 split rear seats are folded flat. There are also various tie-down points and nets to secure loose loads.

Interior and Trims

Inside, the F-Pace's interior has been overhauled to one that resembles the Jaguar XF Saloon. Plush, softly finished surfaces, classy wood veneers and nicely damped switches make the interior feel genuinely upmarket. The inclusion of a larger 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen also makes the F-Pace a worthy alternative to the Audi Q5 and BMW X3

In terms of models, there are plenty of F-Pace variants to choose from, including the S, R-Dynamic SE, R-Dynamic HSE and SVR. Standard features include LED headlights, heated windscreen, an 11.4" touchscreen system with Pivi Pro, front and rear parking aid, rear camera and 18" alloy wheels.

R Dynamic models add a sporty body kit consisting of door cladding, grille, bumper finishers and bumper inserts, as well as larger alloy wheels. The top-of-the-range SVR model goes even further with an SVR body kit, including SVR front bumper, SVR body-coloured door claddings with Satin Grey finishers, and SVR rear bumper with Satin Grey finish.

Power and Performance

Under the bonnet, the F-Pace comes with a choice of two petrol, three diesel and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, all of which come with four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. There's also a 543bhp V8-powered SVR for real performance.

City drivers will be best with the petrol options, the smooth, quiet and punchy 250hp P250 petrol standing out as the pick of the bunch.

For those who travel more miles or spend a lot of time on the motorway, the diesel D165, D200 and D300 offering 161bhp, 201bhp and 296bhp, respectively, are best. The D200 is the pick of the bunch for its impressive fuel economy and mild-hybrid tech.

Company car drivers should consider P400e plug-in hybrid with its 2.0-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined 399bhp and up to 33 miles of electric-only driving, helping to reduce running costs and lower BiK rates.

In terms of ride, the Jaguar has a real edge over its rivals, offering plenty of grip and good body control out on the road. It is also surprisingly capable off-road, with Jaguar's four-wheel-drive system giving you the confidence to push the car some way off the beaten track.

Leasing vs Buying

Fancy leasing the new F-Pace? Thanks to fixed monthly rentals, a low initial outlay and flexible contract and mileage terms, leasing the F-Pace can be cheaper than buying outright with a bank loan or dealer finance.

All our lease deals include the full manufacturer's warranty, road tax for the duration of the contract and free mainland GB delivery, direct to your door (exclusions apply).

We also work directly with the franchised dealer network, meaning we can not only offer you a great lease price but the trust and reliability that comes from a main dealership.

Overall very pleased with the vehicle, my only concern has been around build quality ie rear passenger door panel came away completely from the door (local dealer sorted this) and currently I have a rattle somewhere around the near side front wheel arch which occurs at motorway speeds (car is booked in with the local dealer on 25/10/22).

Premium quality car. Looks fantastic given the very high standard of finishes inside and out and exceptional build quality. The performance is more than adequate, considering it is a large 4x4 SUV. It is extremely comfortable to drive both in short commutes or long journeys with plenty of space and comfort for passengers. There are some very well designed safety features, which while available on other brands/models, are more refined or user friendly. The addition of Alexa has certainly been a big plus for the kids.

The vehicle is comfortable and practicable but very very unreliable! it has been back in to the main dealer 3 times and is currently in now with the same issues which they cannot (or will not) resolve i would never get another Landrover Jaguar again because of this.

Electric folding mirrors should come as standard on such a vehicle.

The headroom for getting into the drivers side is too low - you bang your head if you do not lean back. There has been a constant fault with the exhaust system resulting in the vehicle being off the road three times in less than a year.

Not value for money, no memory seat, no folding wing mirrors, doorstep too high, lack of internal room, 4 adults max in the car, no leg room at all behind driver's seat when fully pushed back
