Mon-Fri 9am to 5.30pm
There will be, in fact, 200 high-performance supercars making an appearance along with a large number of car clubs and dealerships, all showing off their cars (hopefully) gleaming in the late August sunshine (and having just checked BBC Weather that is actually a possibility – inbetween showers). Cars like a Lamborghini Aventador, Alfa Romeo 8C, Ferrari 458 Speciale, Jaguar XJ220 S, McLaren 12C and a Bugatti Veyron; and clubs like the Ford UK Heritage collection (with their Ford Supervan), Porsche Club GB, Westover Group, Morgan Motor Co. Meridien Group and the Aston Martin and Lamborghini Owners’ Clubs.
So having seen them up close as you walk around, at 12 noon and at 2.30 you can watch them being put through their paces as the Demonstration Run revs into action, thundering through the picturesque parklands that surround the National Motor Museum having started under the iconic Dunlop Bridge that Dunlop UK are providing for the day.
Following the 2nd Demonstration Run, there will be a presentation (and cavalcade) that will feature the top seven supercars as voted for by visitors to the show in the People’s Choice Award. Having wound their way through the grounds to Palace House for the presentation ceremony, the winner and two runners-up each will be driving home with a Beaulieu Trophy and pack of Autoglym car cleaning products.
There will also be a prize for any visitors with an eye for a bit of photography with the Supercar Showdown photography competition giving any amateur (or professional) David Baileys a chance to win a family ticket to Beaulieu’s Fireworks Spectacular on 1 November. (More details are available at www.beaulieu.co.uk/photo-competition )
You can get advance tickets until Sunday 24 August at a cost of £13 adult, £9 child and £37.50 for a family with admission on the day at standard Beaulieu attraction admission rates.
