BMW have launched a new “online racing game and car community” for the PC.
Auto Club Revolution allows for virtual BMW models to be driven in a competitive, online environment on realistic, real-world tracks.
Players can choose from and customise the BMW 1 Series M Coupé, the BMW 135i, the BMW M3 Coupé, the BMW M5 and the BMW Z4 M Coupé.
The intention is to create a strong, close-knit yet sizeable online community of BMW enthusiasts – all of whom, whilst playing, will have links to various BMW channels right at their fingertips.
Beyond that, though, this Auto Club Revolution is supposed to be the next-best-thing to actually owning and driving one of these cars in the wheel road – it's an opportunity for BMW fans to test the waters, as it were. Either live the dream or sample a model ahead of a test-drive or purchase.
Says Andreas-Christoph Hofmann of BMW: “Our customers are tech-savvy and love to be able to put their dream car together the way they want. Auto Club Revolution has the possibility to make our models accessible to a large number of car enthusiasts. It was extremely important to us that our models be portrayed realistically.”
Auto Club Revolution will be live from April 24, 2012. All you need to play the game is a PC with an internet connection.
