If you are looking for a car that will give you a whole host of cool points then take a look at the new Jaguar XE. It is now available to lease on some great deals from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
The new Jaguar XE Right has many competitors, including the German trio – Mercedes C-Class, the Audi A4, and BMW 3 Series. However, the Jaguar XE's revamp, that includes a more simplified engine and model line-up, could well see it start to pull away from its rivals.
Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Land Rover MD, said: "In developing the new Jaguar XE, we really focused on the things that mattered to our customers. XE remains one of the sharpest handling and best-looking cars in this class, [with] subtle updates to the award-winning chassis and a more assertive exterior."
The new Jaguar XE exterior redesign has given the car more presence on the road, whilst maintaining the inherent beauty of the Jaguar brand. By taking sporting cues from its F-Type stablemate, the XE's sportiness is evident, it features large front apertures, bold graphics and muscular forms that combine to make the XE look wider and lower than ever before.
When it comes to lighting, at the front of the vehicle you’ll find new all-LED headlights with a striking ‘J’ blade daytime running light signature. Whereas at the rear, the slender all-LED tail-lights with updated signature graphics combine with the new bumper design to make the car look much wider.
A lightweight, 75% aluminium intensive body structure helps the Jaguar XE's agile and dynamic handling, safety, efficiency, and performance. All of this is aided and abetted by rear and all-wheel drive systems, double wishbone front, integral link rear suspension, and some of Jaguar’s most advanced engines.
To help with the drive, Jaguar's first-in-segment ClearSight interior rear-view mirror has been installed. It uses a wide-angle, rear-facing camera to allow an unobstructed view of the road behind and to send images to a high-definition screen in the rear-view mirror itself, negating any problems caused by poor light, rain on the rear windscreen or tall passengers.
"Our design team has made significant enhancements to the interior, completely transforming it from the outgoing model. Now packed full of technology, including the segment-first ClearSight system, XE’s cabin is not only cutting edge but extremely luxurious, too." Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Land Rover MD.
Inside the new XE, you will find extensive use of soft-touch materials, premium veneers and all-new door trims all designed to make the XE practical as well as luxurious. In fact, "every aspect of the cabin has been enhanced for increased convenience, improved stowage and better passenger comfort."
A new steering wheel (that the XE shares with the all-electric I-PACE has 'features- hidden-until-lit' graphics and touch-sensitive switches so that any control of the key functions are not only easy to use but instant too!
Take a look at the trim and spec section below to see just what the new XE’s technology-packed interior delivers when it comes to comfort, quality and connectivity for all occupants. But rest assured that an entertainment system with 6 speakers, Bluetooth audio streaming, DAB digital audio broadcast, dynamic volume control and InControl apps with InControl protect are available.
The new XE comes with a great choice of clean and efficient Ingenium petrol and diesel engines.
The 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine is available with either 250PS (P250) and 300PS (P300) outputs. Whereas the efficient 180PS Ingenium diesel (D180) offers up 430Nm of torque and fuel consumption of up to 57.6mpg. The 300 PS petrol engine, equipped with all-wheel drive, accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds.
The diesel engines are the very latest from Jaguar and, in comparison to the petrol engines, produce around 15% less CO2, emit around the same amount of NOx, and offer around 25% better fuel economy.
On all new XEs you will discover automatic transmission as standard with rear and all-wheel-drive variants also available. When it comes to on demand all-wheel-drive, the AWD system is one of Jaguar's most advanced features. The in-built Intelligent Driveline Dynamics technology helps to keep the XE’s rear-wheel drive handling feel and agility "while improving performance, traction and driver confidence in all weather conditions."
For those diesel heads out there, you might be interested that the new Jaguar XE is the first in its class to offer a diesel variant that is compliant with the stringent RDE2 NOx emissions limit that comes into law restrictions in January 2021. Also, there’s good news for company car buyers, as RDE2-compliant diesels don’t attract a 4% supplement to the Benefit-in-Kind tax.
The Jaguar XE is available in 3 trim levels - S, SE, HSE - all of which is also available in a sporty R-Dynamic guise.
With additional customer-focused specification as standard, the XE is also better value than ever before. For example, the D180 R-Dynamic S, priced at £36,145, is £670 cheaper than the 19MY XE R-Sport equivalent – at £36,815 – while adding around £1,100 of extra equipment, a total saving of £1,770 for customers.
