A new car festival arrives in the UK this year in the shape of Donington Park's Fast Car Festival in Derbyshire on July 30-31 2016.
Feature high-performance cars from all over the world, along with performances, demonstrations and displays, the honoured marque for the inaugural event will be the classic Lotus, and the whole festival promises not only some of the most impressive car collections from around the world, but also a fun festival feel too.
Driving club displays will be to the fore, with one of the most prestigious clubs, Supercar Driver, having a massive presence at the event, bringing along their members’ finest hyper and super cars that includes Bugatti Veyrons, Pagani Zondas and Koenigseggs alongside Ferrari 458s, Porsche 911 Turbos and Lamborghini Huracans.
Heading up the British Drivers' Club displays will be the like of the TVR Car Club and the Lotus Drivers’ Club all vying for prime attention in the British Paddock area of the display area, where you can browse hundreds of the finest, rarest, fastest and priciest cars around.
And it's not just displays. There will be plenty of action on the Donington track too, with performance cars of all shapes, ages and sizes being put through their paces to give the crowds something to cheer about. With final car detais still to be announced, visitors to the festival are promised the sight of hot hatches, sports and hypercars and even the future of performance from Formula E racers appearing on the track ready to fight out for the title of to crowd-pleaser. As the festival says: "Be it classic, retro, current or future, if it’s fast and has four wheels, then it will be found at The Fast Car Festival."
Away from the thrills and spills of the track, there will be music and food available of all types, and over at the main stage, besides live music, there will be interviews with motoring celebrities, along with an ‘experts’ quiz team, taking on the most knowledgeable show goers in an Eggheads-style challenge.
Camping is available over the two days, with the main party getting underway on the Saturday night with licensed bars and a brilliant selection of live bands, followed by appearances from club DJs and an evening of party music.
