This week sees the return of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the world’s largest automotive garden party set against the spectacular backdrop of Goodwood House in West Sussex.
Staged every summer since 1993, the four-day festival features over 600 cars and motorcycles from the world of motoring and motorsport, with legendary figures from the sport, as well as international celebrities, in attendance.
The theme for this year is “Speed Kings – Motorsport’s Record Breakers”, celebrating the ultimate heroes of motorsport past, present and future.
The focus will not just be on the Land Speed Record, but on every area of record breaking in motorsport, from the most consecutive wins, to most championships, fastest laps, most poles set by a manufacturer and many more.
This year also sees some changes to the physical layout of the festival with the relocation of the road car paddocks making way for an all-new live action arena guaranteed to thrill spectators.
Throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday visitors can witnessing drift cars shredding tyres, stunt drivers doing the daring, insane and unimaginable with car and motorcycle displays, making the new Arena the ultimate amphitheatre of action.
