This blog post will not necessarily be destroyed in the next 5 seconds, but it does involve fast cars, James Bond and a lot of spying...
...Because once again Jaguar Land Rover are involved in the life and times of Britain's favourite film spy by providing a line-up of vehicles set to feature in the new (and 24th) James Bond adventure film SPECTRE, being produced by Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Jaguar have been involved closely in many of the previous Bond films, especially those starring a certain Mr Daniel Craig, and most recently in 2012, where the rugged Defender 110 Double Cab Pick Up was driven by field agent Eve Moneypenny in the opening sequence to SKYFALL; and the Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Team have been relentless in their expected pursuit of excellence by this time providing, amongst others a Jaguar C-X75, a Range Rover Sport SVR and a Defender Big Foot.
These three models have what could be termed some major roles in what is likely to be yet another blockbuster of a film.
The Jaguar C-X75, built in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering facility in Oxfordshire, will feature in a pivotal and spectacular car chase sequence through Rome that is currently being filmed, as it battles for supremacy against an Aston Martin DB10.
The heavily modified versions of Land Rover Defender & Range Rover Sport SVR (the fastest and most powerful Land Rover ever ) have already had their moment in the spotlight with scenes shot in Austria, where they faced some heavy terrain; perfect for the highly capable Big Foots that were constructed by Special Operations with huge 37-inch diameter off-road tyres, bespoke suspension systems and enhanced body protection to show off the capabilities of the car.
Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, John Edwards, said: "This is an exciting partnership for Jaguar Land Rover and an opportunity to demonstrate the fantastic capabilities of the Special Operations team.’’
