'going green' when it comes to choosing a car to drive, the award-winning Mitsubishi Outlander has already proved its worth.
So much so that Mitsubishi has decided to launch a new high-specification special edition in the UK called the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Juro, to give customers looking to lease the nation's best-selling plug-in hybrid even more reasons to do so.
Available to lease from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts for around the same monthly price as the Outlander PHEV GX3h+ on which it is based, the limited edition Juro offers the added convenience of a touchscreen CD/DVD infotainment unit with TomTom satellite navigation, smartphone integration and DAB radio as standard, as well as being fully loaded with a host of other features, including cruise control, 18” alloy wheels, heated front seats, the Mitsubishi PHEV app and dual-zone climate control.
All versions of the Outlander PHEV can travel up to 32 miles in electric mode alone, so those short city journeys can be accommodated easily and 'electronically', so choosing an Outlander PHEV is easy, although the addition of the Juro just makes it a little harder.
The Specification for the Outlander PHEV Juro:
- Touchscreen CD/DVD audio unit with TomTom satellite navigation
- Smartphone integration (Android Auto/Apple CarPlay)
- DAB radio
- Outlander bonnet emblem
- Pre-heater
- Mitsubishi PHEV app

Sales of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV have topped the 25,000 mark in the UK, accounting for approximately half of the total number of plug-in hybrids registered in the UK since the very first of such vehicles were registered in 2010. Since those early days, the total plug-in market in the UK has grown from just 989 in 2013, and a cumulative 2,770 by May 2014, to 10,000 by the end of 2014, with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV accounting for 5,354 of those vehicles.
Other car manufacturers have released plug-in hybrid models by the end of 2015 - making a total of 13 in all - bring a total segment of registrations to 19,000, but it was the Outlander PEV that stood head and shoulders above them all with 11,681 sales - a 61% share.
And that has continued apace in 2016, with the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Juro, looking to increase that share, despite manufacturers such as Kia launching their Optima PHEV.
Lance Bradley, Managing Director Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, commented: “We’re extremely proud of the role the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has played in building awareness and acceptance of electrically-powered vehicles in the UK and thanks to its unmatched combination of practicality, ease-of-use, elegant styling and low running costs, we are confident of maintaining our market-leading position well into the future.”
