Another What Van? Awards announcement – another award for Mitsubishi; this time for the Mitsubishi Outlander in the ‘Best 4x4 Car Derived Van’ category, highlighting the appeal of the commercial model in the van world.
Voted for by the editorial team of the UK’s leading light commercial vehicle title, the prestigious What Van? Awards are designed to reward the top performers in the van industry – and that’s just what Mitsubishi are, in particular with the Mitsubishi Outlander.
Paul Barker, Editor of What Van? said: “Mitsubishi’s Outlander 4Work sets new standards in the niche sector that combine van practicality with genuine go-anywhere ability. The levels of refinement, quality and equipment, not to mention the Outlander’s good looks, mean it’s a worthy 2014 What Van? Awards victory for Mitsubishi, a company that specialises in 4X4 vans.”
The Mitsubishi Outlander Commercial is especially designed for those businesses that require a vehicle with the ability to shift loads but don’t really need one that has the full capabilities of a truck, and the Outlander Commercial is stuffed full of clever technology that enables the driver to do almost everything that is needed – apart from getting the breakfast butties in!
When it comes to work, technology like Active Stability and Traction Control (M-ASTC), Auto Stop & Go (AS&G), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and an adjustable speed limiter make sure that the working day is completed with the minimum of fuss. And to make sure that it is completed in comfort, there’s climate control and cruise control (as standard), a radio/CD/MP3 player with six speakers, front electric windows, airbags, daytime running lights and 16” steel wheels.
Speaking about the Mitsubishi Outlander, Lance Bradley, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: “The new Outlander Commercial is a unique proposition providing an intelligent 4WD system, ‘car-like’ driving experience, comfort for the driver and the ability to carry over 700kg in a secure load area. This is all in addition to best-in-class fuel efficiency, CO2 emissions and five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.”
All-in-all it’s been another good year for the Mitsubishi commercial range, with continued support from major UK Fleet customers that include the Environment Agency, BT Fleet, Highways Agency and Anglian Water, and capped off by this 4X4 Car Derived Van of the Year award.
