Nationwide Vehicle Contracts has renewed its sponsorship of National Hunt Racehorse Trainer DJ Jeffreys, continuing a partnership that first began in 2019. The renewed agreement supports DJ and his growing yard and reinforces Nationwide Vehicle Contracts’ commitment to backing local talent and community-led sport.
As Yard Sponsor, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts will provide formal sponsorship of DJ Jeffreys’ horses in training through the British Horseracing Authority (BHA). The sponsorship also includes liveried equipment and clothing, alongside wider PR opportunities and joint activities across the season.
Nationwide Vehicle Contracts first sponsored DJ Jeffreys at the start of his training career. At the time, DJ was working from rented facilities with just three horses and a clear ambition to build something of his own.
Since then, his progress has been strong. He quickly delivered results at the highest level, achieving three Cheltenham Festival winners in three consecutive years. These included Zara Hope in 2019, followed by Lively Citizen in 2020 and again in 2021.
That momentum has continued. DJ has now established a new, purpose-built training facility at Ballard’s Farm in Evesham, with 30 boxes and a full set of facilities designed to support performance and horse welfare.

DJ Jeffreys grew up in the far north of Northumberland, with a childhood shaped by farming and National Hunt stock. He credits that upbringing as the foundation for the practical knowledge and high standards of care he applies to every horse in his yard.
While DJ recognises the importance of routine in training, he places equal value on understanding each horse as an individual. He believes horses develop best when their personalities, strengths, and weaknesses are taken into account. That approach allows the yard team to tailor routines and give each horse the attention needed to progress.
“We are proud to renew our sponsorship of DJ Jeffreys and support the next stage of his journey. DJ has built a yard based on hard work, high standards of care, and consistent results. This partnership reflects our commitment to backing people and communities who share those values.”

Ballard’s Farm sits in the Worcestershire countryside, around three miles from Broadway and nine miles from Cheltenham. The location puts the yard in the heart of National Hunt racing, with access to varied training conditions that support fitness, development, and preparation for competition.
The farm and surrounding woodland also create a training environment that helps DJ deliver something different. The mix of land and facilities gives the yard flexibility, both for conditioning and for schooling.
Facilities at Ballard’s Farm include:
- Four-furlong round sand gallop
- Grass gallops
- Schooling facilities
- Outdoor school
- Horse walker
- Solarium
- Turnout areas
Renewing the sponsorship reflects Nationwide Vehicle Contracts’ support for UK sport and the people behind it. DJ Jeffreys has built a yard that combines ambition with a strong focus on horse care, and Nationwide Vehicle Contracts is proud to continue supporting that journey.
As the new season progresses, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts looks forward to working with DJ Jeffreys.
