Nationwide Vehicle Contracts is proud to announce our sponsorship of the upcoming Elliot's Fun Football Charity Shield. Scheduled to take place on July 7, 2024, at the Mike Doyle Centre in Stockport (SK5 6JW), the event promises to be a remarkable day, not only for the sport but also for a significant cause close to our hearts.
The competition targets enthusiastic football players in the under-9s and under-10s categories, welcoming teams from around the region to participate in what is set to be a spirited contest among 12 competing teams. Designed to promote exercise and bring families together, the event aligns perfectly with our commitment to foster community spirit and healthy lifestyles.
All funds raised from the event will be donated to The Elliot Project, a dedicated mental health charity. The Elliot Project is working tirelessly to train one in five people as mental health first aiders. With 497 individuals already qualified, their goal is further supported by one-to-one coaching, a network of volunteers, and extensive public education on mental health issues, offering invaluable information, advice, and support to those in need.
Our sponsorship will help cover essential aspects of the event, including trophies, medals, and referees, as well as raffle prizes that promise to add excitement to the day. We believe in making a meaningful impact, and supporting such an event allows us to give back to the community in a way that encourages both physical well-being and mental health awareness.
"Recognising that mental health issues can affect anyone, even from a young age, we have organised a football charity shield event for under 10s. Our aim is to promote mental health awareness and encourage open conversations about it among young children, helping to normalise these important discussions from an early age. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Nationwide Vehicle Contracts for their generous sponsorship, which plays a crucial role in making this event possible." - Louise Mahaffey, Organiser of Elliot's Fun Football Charity Shield.
"At Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, we're not only proud sponsors of this event, but we are also committed to the well-being of our staff and customers. In addition to our sponsorship, we'll be enabling our staff to participate in The Elliot Project's two-day Mental Health First Aiders course, underscoring our dedication to fostering a supportive and healthy environment for all." Mark Smith, Director of Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
