The Range Rover Evoque has carved out a distinctive niche in the SUV segment as arguably being the go-to luxury SUV. Combining elegance, cutting-edge tech, and superb off-road capabilities, it’s perhaps become the symbol of the SUV.
But does it really deserve the reputation as the go-to prestige SUV?
In this article, we explore the Range Rover Evoque in detail, including all its features and why it might be the ultimate choice for drivers.
One of the main reasons so many people opt to lease a Range Rover Evoque is its looks. Its stunning design showcases a sleek, coupe-like body that gets heads turning.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the exteriors of the Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40, but they're Championship while the Evoque is Premier League.
Step inside the Evoque, and you’re surrounded by absolute luxury. It doesn’t take you long to realise why so many celebrities drive one.
The interior showcases craftsmanship and premium materials. It features Windsor leather, Moonlight Chrome detailing, and wood veneer accents. It gives the sense that you’ve been transported to an exclusive country club or something like that.
You’ll also get front seats that are 12-way adjustable and heated and cooled, and configurable cabin lighting that allows you to set the perfect in-car mood.
In addition to having its fair share of luxury, the Evoque comes with more than enough technology. In fact, it’s up there with being one of the most tech-savvy options in the SUV segment.
At its heart is the Evoque’s Pivi Pro infotainment system, which comes with an 11.4-inch curved central touchscreen. The system incorporates all controls onto the screen, which, I'm not going to lie, can be a bit tricky to use.
But you won’t care about that, because you also get a 12.3-inch interactive driver display that shows navigation instructions and all the required vehicle settings or journey data.
Both screens look absolutely fantastic and give off a futuristic and minimalist look, a style which seems to be the craze at the moment.
The engine range for the Evoque is so big that you can pretty much find whatever you’re looking for (apart from fully electric). You get the option of three diesels, two petrol, and a plug-in hybrid.
While the diesels and petrols are no mugs, we’d definitely go for the plug-in hybrid. After all, it's 2024 people!
It combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 15kWh battery and electric motor to return up to 269hp and go from 0 to 62mph in under seven seconds. The main plus about plug-in hybrids is that they’re great to drive around town, and in the Evoque, you’ll be able to drive up to 38 miles on pure-electric range. Perfect for those small journeys.
However, not just around town is where the Evoque is at its best. Get in the countryside and it’s also superb. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and Range Rover’s Terrain Response 2, which makes tackling a range of services a breeze.
Despite being classed as a compact SUV, the Evoque is a bit like the TARDIS in that it is remarkably practical. Although the standard boot space, at 591 litres, isn’t the best, the rear seats can be folded to reveal a cargo capacity of up to 1,383 litres.
You’ll also get the option of a powered tailgate, which allows hands-free access to the boot—handy if you’re carrying all the shopping yourself.
Let’s be honest: If you’re thinking about an Evoque, you’ve probably got a family (or are planning on having one, good luck). Safety is paramount for a family car, and the Evoque meets the demands.
It comes equipped with a whole host of driver assistance features, such as cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, hill launch assist, and dynamic stability control.
Wherever you’re driving, the Evoque has the tech to ensure you and your passengers are safe.
The Range Rover Evoque is one of those cars that provide the whole package. If you’re after cutting-edge tech, superb practicality and class-leading comfort, it won’t let you down.
While other luxury SUVs offer similar features, they’re not as good as the Evoque. It can go from the city to the countryside in the blink of an eye while providing the utmost sophistication.
If you’re considering an Evoque, go for it. I’m sure you won’t regret it.
