Right across the SEAT Mii, Ibiza, Toledo, Altea and Alhambra ranges, the Spanish car manufacturer has launched a new special edition, I-TECH, with special touches such as would befit the name.
The SEAT Mii is the first to welcome in the newcomer with I-TECH touches taking the form of some 14-inch ‘Spirited’ alloy wheels with titanium finish, a smart I-TECH key cover and black upholstery with gloss grey dashboard panel for the visual impact, and SEAT Portable System Live complete with sat nav, Bluetooth® phone connection with audio streaming, micro SD card slot and integrated trip computer functions for the technological side. Add in the nippy 1.0-litre 60 PS engine that offers a fantastically economical 62.8 miles per gallon and the SEAT Mii I-TECH (which replaces the former Toca version) should soon be speeding its way into the lives of UK drivers.
SEAT believes that the best-selling I-TECH range is likely to be the SEAT Ibiza, (featured in the main picture) available on all three SC, 5-door and ST bodystyles. Based on the SE version, the Ibiza I-TECH is the perfect fit between Toca and the new ‘30 Years’ special edition, already features a 1.2 TSI 105 PS engine with a manual gearbox, and now looks even better with a smart and contemporary look on the outside topped off with 16-inch ‘Cartago’ alloy wheels with titanium finish and B-pillar I-TECH badges. And inside, the upholstery is created with unique dark blue cloth and simil-leather upholstery with embossed I-TECH logo, enhanced by a standard set of I-TECH floor mats, key cover and door sill plates.
The SEAT Toledo already has a reputation for being ‘compact, yet cavernous’, and the addition of I-TECH to the range sends the Toledo I-TECH straight to the top as the Toledo flagship with 16-inch ‘Design’ alloy wheels with titanium finish, grey alcantara and black simil-leather upholstery, metallic dashboard inlays, plus I-TECH badges on the side and an I-TECH key cover.
The SEAT Altea and Altea XL I-TECH replaces the Copa, and is perfect for ferrying the kids around, from the school run to the visit to Auntie Karen in the middle of nowhere, with the help of the central roof-mounted TFT screen in the rear (until they argue over what to watch!) For other bits of ‘driver enjoyment’ there are sliding rear seats, dual-zone climate control, electric front and rear windows, Hill Hold Control, plus front and rear parking sensors; and for ‘real enjoyment’ in the front there is the SEAT Media System 2.2 that includes satellite navigation, five-inch colour touchscreen, DAB radio, SD card slot and Bluetooth®. Safety is as you would expect but added to by the eight airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
And the final member of the I-TECH quintet is the SEAT Alhambra, slotting in nicely between SE and SE Lux with its 2.0 TDI 140 engine with either manual or auto transmission, and benefitting from some impressive touches such as the 17-inch ‘Dynamic’ alloy wheels with titanium finish, sport-style front seats, chrome and black brushed interior, keyless entry & go and the SEAT Media System 2.2, including satellite navigation, five-inch colour touchscreen, DAB radio, SD card slot and Bluetooth® that the SEAT Altea I-TECH features.
