Renault's crossover look, as seen on the Kadjar and Koleos, is instantly recognisable; and that innovative look has now been shared with the new Renault Captur that was shown off at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, and is now available to order for leasing from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
Already Europe’s best-selling urban crossover in 2016, the Captur now comes with more distinctive styling akin to its big brother Kadjar, and new advanced technologies, and hopes to build on its original success.
Bolder inside and out
The New Captur has taken another step towards 'crossoverability' with a modified radiator grille and new bumper (with added skid plates) bringing it into line with its older siblings; and C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights, incorporated into the bumper both front and back, complete the look.
Three new body colours - Desert Orange, Ocean Blue and Amethyst - have been added to the Captur's already striking two-tone colour scheme, along with a new Mercury Silver option for the roof, giving customers an amazing 36 different potential combinations to tailor the appearance of their New Captur to match their personal taste.
And this personalisation is continued inside with 7 different interior touch packs available in Ivory, Blue, Caramel, Red, Bronze-tinted Chrome, Satin Chrome and Smoked Chrome, complemented by exterior customisation packs in a choice of six colours: Ivory, Blue, Cappuccino, Red, Satin Chrome and Orange.
And just to finish it all off, you can choose wheel types from a list of three - 16" Adventure, 17" Emotion and 17" Explore - and, from the Dynamique S Nav trim upwards, a fixed-glass roof.
The cabin interior is more refined, having been created from higher grade plastics, sleek chrome and elegantly subdued colours, with both steering wheel and gear lever also modernised.
Seats offer additional lateral support and greater comfort, with the added benefit of zip removable and washable upholstery - a real bonus for families.
Advanced Technology
According to which trim level is chosen, there are three multimedia systems available: R&GO®, Media Nav and R-LINK.
R&GO® is Renault’s smart, simple system that transforms the user’s smartphone into a connected tablet installed in a universal cradle, enabling the user to intuitively access the car’s most useful functions, including navigation (through an in-app purchase), telephone, multimedia and vehicle data.
Renault R-LINK provides the New Captur with an advanced multimedia system with its 7" screen allowing instant access to navigation with real-time traffic updates, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, media playback (photos, videos) and a wide variety of applications via Renault’s R-LINK Store, as well as management of the vehicle’s driving aids (depending on version). It is now compatible with Android Auto™ .
When it comes to driving aids, the New Captur incorporates Blind Spot Warning (from Dynamique S Nav upwards as standard), front parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, and the Hands-Free Parking function, again on higher-end models, which helps get into those tight spaces in a world where they are at a premium.
The New Captur range
The New Captur is offered in five recognisable trim levels - Expression+, Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav, Signature X Nav (previously Signature Nav), and Signature S Nav - each with a comprehensive standard specification, rising to the truly luxurious toward the top of the range.
When it comes to safety, all Captur models have Euro NCAP’s maximum five-star safety rating, a reinforced structure, high-efficiency front airbags, head/chest side airbags, seat belts with pre-tensioners and force limiters (front seats), anti-whiplash headrests, force limiter function (rear side seats), anti-submarining front seats (Fix4sure), and three-point ISOFIX child seat anchor points on the front passenger and outer rear seats.
And for driving help, all come with ABS with Emergency Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Traction Control, cruise control, speed limiter, Hill Start Assist, and a Roll Movement Intervention system.
