Jaguar's new 550HP high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR
Pebble Beach in California at this time of year is not only full of ‘the beautiful people’; it’s also full of beautiful cars at the Pebble Beach Automotive Week where the very best show off their very best to the very rich, famous and, well, beautiful. It all kicks off this Thursday (14 August) so we are looking at what some of the most revered makers of ‘beautiful’ cars have in store for us to see, drool over and desire (without really having any chance at all in getting) in a setting that befits its position in the social standing of automobile world.

So let’s start our look at what Jaguar Land Rover has in store for the Pebble Beach Automotive Week with what they will be showing off at their Concours d’Elegance Kick-Off party which includes the global debut of the new 550HP high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR.

Jaguar's new 550HP high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR on the roadGathering this Thursday at the Jaguar Land Rover Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Kick-Off party at the Pebble Beach and Tennis Club will be many of the world’s top automotive aficionados, collectors and vintage racers, all there to see the three vehicles that Jaguar Land Rover’s newly created Special Operations division has produced under the leadership of Managing Director John Edwards.

And right at the front of the must-sees is the new 550HP high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR, the first Jaguar Land Rover model to wear the new SVR designation; the all-aluminium, fully road-legal two-seater F-TYPE Project 7 (in US production form), a roadster  with bespoke carbon-fibre aerodynamic aids resplendent in its new Glacier White colour and based on the 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE; Jaguar’s prototype of six Lightweight E-type vehicles; and many other vehicles from both the Jaguar Group and Rover Group including the Jaguar XFR-S and XKR-S GT, the ultra-luxurious Range Rover Autobiography Black and the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography.

Jaguar E-Type carcassBoth the Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 and Range Rover Sport SVR are both from the aforementioned Special Vehicle Operations while the new Lightweight E-type is the first production courtesy of the Special Operation’s Jaguar Heritage team.

Moving on to The Quail on the Saturday, Jaguar Land Rover will be showing off much much more, as well as previous day favourites and must-sees including the high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR, the Range Rover Long-wheelbase and the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Black amongst its full model line-up.

Here at The Quail , guests will be able to test drive (on and off-road) all of the current model year line-ups, including the Range Rover Supercharged, Range Rover Sport Supercharged, Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover LR4.

At the Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca from Friday to Sunday, for the first time ever, Jaguar and Land Rover will both feature project displays among several garages along the pit lane, and this includes Jaguar’s lightweight E-type, the 2015 F-TYPE Coupe and the F-TYPE Coupe cut-away, with Land Rover highlights including the Range Rover Sport SVR, the Range Rover Long-wheelbase and the Range Rover Sport split-away. 

Guests will have the chance, on a specially-created off-road course, to test-drive Land Rover’s latest model take the opportunity to browse past and present 1989 and 2014 edition vehicles in a “Great Divide” display celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the famous expedition.
