Vauxhall recently released their all-new Insignia Sports Tourer, an update on the existing Insignia Grand Sport, but with more space for the growing family.
With dynamic large looks, the Insignia Sports Tourer was inspired by Vauxhall's 2013 British-designed Monza Concept, being bold, agile, and fun to drive, yet adding space and comfort to occupants.
A prominent front grille and Monza Concept-inspired headlights add to the dynamism in design, with the slim, slightly protruding LED rear lights in double-wing design adding even more of an all-round impression. A lighter car than its predecessor, as Vauxhall/Opel Vice President Design Europe Mark Adams says: "We wanted the new Insignia to deliver an upscale quality feel. Its design combines flowing lines and subtle surfaces with crisp, precise lines to exaggerate its dramatic proportions: it looks longer, lower and wider than it actually is, and it definitely looks upscale."
Inside, it is the attention to detail that first strikes you, with clean lines, tactile surfaces and first-class craftsmanship apparent, even at a glance.
A lower driving position and at-hand instruments and controls, including an angled central infotainment screen, make driving easier and more comfortable, with the frameless touchscreen of the IntelliLink infotainment system easier and more intuitive to use than before.
The screen helps control much of the safety and driving assistance features in the new Insignia Sports Tourer. These include:
- Next-gen IntelliLux LED Headlight Matrix lighting
- 32 LED lenses with curve and spotlight illumination
- Head-up-Display technology
- Adaptive Cruise Control(ACC)
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Forward Collision Alert
- Advanced Park Assist
When it comes to connectivity, Vauxhall's renowned OnStar services are on hand, offering services ranging from automatic crash response to stolen vehicle assistance, as well as a new feature that can help get hotel bookings and find parking spaces.
The new Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer also features:
- IntelliLink infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration
- Bose sound system with 8 high-quality speakers
- A powerful 4G/LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot to connect all mobile devices to
To ensure that all of this can be enjoyed, there is more space than before, with an option of a flexible 40:20:40 layout, ergonomically-designed, heated seats for both front and outer rear passengers, heated steering wheel and wing-mirrors, a kick-gesture-opening tailgate, more luggage space and Keyless Entry.
