Now available on 24-48 month leasing contracts with some great leasing deals is Volkswagen's latest commercial Vehicle - the Volkswagen Caddy.
Available in three trim levels – Startline, Trendline and Highline – and with short or Maxi wheelbases (including Maxi Life, Maxi Kombi and Maxi Window van) – the new fourth-generation Volkswagen Caddy is set to make a serious challenge for VW Commercial Vehicles' top spot, currently held by the Volkswagen Transporter.
And with new state-of-the-art technology, a raft of comfort, convenience and safety innovations as well as new engines, who can say that it won't take over at the top of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles ownership league?
Right at the start, the entry-level Startline model gets an wolf-whistle of approval with some impressive standard equipment that includes:
Moving up to the next trim level, Trendline, in addition to all that the Startline has, you can add in full wheel covers, body coloured bumpers, handles and wing mirrors, rear parking sensors, cruise control, multi-function display, driver’s lumbar support, under-seat storage and sun visors with vanity mirrors to the already bulging specification list.
At this is all topped off with the top of the range Highline trim level which takes the Trendline and adds in :
The Caddy is available with a range of three 2.0-litre EU5 engines, ranging in power output from 75PS right through 102 to 150 PS, with all models not only available in combination with a five- or six-speed manual gearbox (with higher powered versions also having the option of a 6/7 speed DSG automatic gearbox option) but also the option of being specified with BlueMotion Technology (BMT) modifications. This entails the addition of a start/stop system as well as battery regeneration - both installed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The most economical 102 PS engine has a combined fuel consumption of up to 65.7mpg and a CO2 output of just 114g/km, and there is also the option of a standalone BlueMotion variant with a 2.0-litre EU6 102 PS engine and five-speed manual gearbox that can return 65.7 mpg and CO2 emissions of 114 g/km.
A new benchmark has been set in the VW Caddy's class with an array of safety and convenience systems that includes:
In the cabin, the Caddy new upholstery and switchgear makes comfort a priority, as well as boasting enhanced stereo and infotainment systems that includes the standard 5" touchscreen Colour Composition system with DAB+ and Bluetooth capability (that can be upgraded to Composition Media, or the Discover Navigation system).
In the soon-to-come Caddy Life, there is flexible seating for up to seven passengers, including the driver with the two rear rows of seats can be folded, double folded or removed to leave a loading space of up to 3,030 litres. The Caddy Maxi Life, with its extra 420mm length, will offer an additional 340 litres, bringing the total loading area up to 3,370 litres.
And all this without touching the robustness of the Volkswagen Caddy.
