Vauxhall’s new Mokka X SUV will be hitting the roads of the UK from October this year, looking to build on the success of the existing Vauxhall Mokka with a number of petrol and diesel engines across the Design Nav, Active, Elite and Elite Nav trims.
The new six-speed manual 1.6CDTi 110PS diesel engine is capable of delivering up to 72.4mpg (combined) with emissions of only 103g/km across all trim levels, with the new generation 1.4-litre Direct Injection Turbo (153PS) petrol unit available in the Design Nav trim, delivering an acceleration from 0-60mph of just 9.4 seconds up to a top speed of 120mph. The 1.4 Turbo engine comes with six-speed automatic transmission, adaptive all-wheel drive and start/stop.
When it comes to looks, there isn't that much of a change from the existing Mokka model, but a more 'Vauxhalled' front grill and front face with Adaptive Forward Lighting LED headlights instead of the previous Xenon units is change enough.
Standard equipment on Mokka X entry-level Design Nav models is impressive and includes:
At the top of the range we find the Elite Nav trim which adds in some fine comfort features indeed, including full leather interior, heated front seats and steering wheel, and tinted rear windows for added style and privacy.
With the new Mokka X in direct competition with the Nissan Juke, let battle commence.
