To help you understand the different elements of your quotation, we’ve put together this helpful explanatory document. 

We advise you to check your quotation carefully to ensure you’re happy with the product, price summary and our fees. Please note, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts only offer Contract Hire and Personal Contract Hire agreements which are hire agreements, they’re not purchase agreements. If you notice any issues once the quote has been signed quotation changes can be made, but the lease price might change. However, if you notice any issues after you’ve signed the finance documents this means you can either continue or cancel the order, but you won’t receive a refund.  

Explanation of the different elements of your quotation:

Order Details

If you’ve been sent a quotation from an adviser, their contact name and number will appear at the top of the page, along with Nationwide Vehicle Contracts’ email and postal address.

Contract type: This relates to the type of lease agreement (e.g. contract hire or personal contract hire).

Vehicle: The make (e.g. Audi), model (e.g. A3 Sportback) and variant (e.g. 1.6 TD SE Technik S Tronic) of the vehicle to which the quote refers.  

The vehicle specification displayed on our website is supplied by a third party known as CAP. Whilst every effort is made to ensure this information is accurate, it should only be used as a guide and no decision should be made to lease a specific vehicle without verification from either the manufacturer’s website or the franchised dealer. Please check your order carefully to ensure it suits your exact requirements and if you wish to check or verify the exact specification of a particular vehicle, please speak to your sales consultant. 

Please be aware all new diesel vehicles are fitted either with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and/or diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) technology. This must be strictly maintained according to the manufacturer’s guidelines, as failure to do so may result in damage to the vehicle which isn’t covered by manufacturer’s warranty or a maintenance contract. If you’re considering leasing a diesel vehicle, please read ‘What You Need to Know Before Leasing a Diesel Vehicle’ guide to ensure the vehicle is right for you before proceeding with your order.

Vehicle Details

Fuel type: Petrol, diesel, electric

Pre-registered: To ensure stock availability, some dealers pre-register vehicles before they’re allocated to a customer. Pre-registered means the car has been registered with the DVLA and is already in possession of a number plate. It’s worth noting the manufacturer’s warranty and breakdown cover starts from the day of registration. This means if you have a pre-registered car the warranty period has already started, so you’re entitled to the remaining balance, plus the service due date will be affected too. In the event the warranty expires within the contract hire period, you’ll be liable for any repairs or breakdown costs, unless a maintenance package is purchased. An MOT may also be required (at your cost) three-years from published taxation point, in line with UK law.

If a vehicle is pre-registered, you’ll be entitled to the balance of the manufacturer’s warranty and roadside assistance cover. Please note, for pre-registered vehicles sold with the balance of the manufacturer’s warranty, an MOT will be required three-years from published taxation point, in line with UK law. 

Transmission Type: Manual, automatic 

CO2 emissions:  The amount of CO2 emissions the vehicle emits, in g/km. 

Colour: The exterior colour of the vehicle.

Trim / Interior Colour: The interior colour and trim of the vehicle.

Model year: The year the vehicle was manufactured 

Accessories: Any additional accessories added to the vehicle, supplied by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts. 

Options: Any additional options added to the vehicle, supplied by the dealer.  

Engine Power – BHP: the maximum power that the engine can put out.

Payment Summary 

Term: The length of your contract, typically 24, 36 or 48 months. Please note, additional charges may apply if you terminate the contract early.

Annual mileage: The annual mileage of the contract. This should represent the number of miles you intend to travel yearly.  

Initial rental: An advanced payment of usually equivalent to 3, 6 or 9 monthly rentals payable to finance company within 7 to 14-days of delivery. This amount forms part of the hire agreement and is non-refundable. 

Processing Fee: This is the broker fee charged by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts for our service and represents the costs incurred for arranging the sale, ordering the vehicle, arranging the finance and organising delivery of the vehicle. This processing fee is payable by debit or credit card or by BACs payment. 

Transaction Fee: The transaction fee represents the fee taken by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts Limited for the arrangement of the agreement and will be payable by debit or credit card or by BACs payment at point of order.

Standard delivery: Quoted delivery "lead times" represent our “best estimate” based on information provided by our brand supplier. Whilst we endeavour to ensure that delivery dates are as accurate as possible, delivery dates are subject to change by the manufacturer and on occasion delays do occur due to production issues. Nationwide Vehicle Contracts will keep you informed of any known changes to your vehicle’s delivery date to allow you to make any necessary arrangements as a consequence. Nationwide Vehicle Contracts Ltd has no control or influence over manufacturer lead times and will not accept any responsibility for any losses or inconveniences caused because of a delay from the manufacturer. Please be aware Nationwide Vehicle Contracts do not provide the provision of a hire vehicle in the event that your delivery lead time is put back by the manufacturer. If you require a hire vehicle in the interim, this can be booked through Europcar

Followed by X rentals:

Notes: 

Payment Breakdown 

Finance rental: The monthly payment for the lease of the vehicle. Personal contract hire agreements include VAT at 20%.

Maintenance: The cost per month for maintenance package. Please note, this is only a guide price. If you wish to take a maintenance package as part of your vehicle, please contact your sales consultant for a formal quotation. 

If selected, the maintenance package includes manufacturer recommended servicing and excludes misuse, accident damage and vehicle glass. Please be aware without a maintenance package, you’ll be responsible for all maintenance and servicing costs for the vehicle throughout the duration of your contract in line with the manufacturer’s schedule.

Road tax: All of our vehicles come with road tax for the duration of the contract. 

Roadside assistance: The standard roadside assistance cover as offered by the manufacturer.

Total rental: The total cost per month including the finance rental, maintenance and any other optional extras. The total cost per month including the finance rental, maintenance and any other optional extras.

Excess mileage: Any mileage over the agreed contract is charged at the excess mileage rate. This represents the cost charged in pence per mile. Please ensure you select mileage appropriate to you as some funders may not allow you to amend this at a later stage.

Vehicle Connectivity: Please note, for vehicles with driver connectivity systems such as Mercedes Connect Me, Jaguar/Land Rover InControl, Vauxhall OnStar etc., driver data will not be set-up on the vehicle due to restrictions set by the funder.

Pricing: Please note, whilst Nationwide Vehicle Contracts makes every effort to ensure all "quoted" prices are maintained up until an "order" is confirmed, rentals are subject to change at any time by the funder and we reserve the right to pass on any price changes which may affect the rental originally quoted. In the unlikely event of a change to the rental, we will contact you by email or telephone to confirm if you wish to proceed with your order or to provide you with possible alternatives. If the alternative isn’t acceptable to you, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts will cancel your order without penalty and refund any monies paid.
