The Citroen C3 Aircross is a compact SUV with an appealing appearance, a smooth ride, and a flexible interior. It's smooth to drive, but other alternatives have more passenger space.
Rivals to the Citroen C3 Aircross include the Ford Puma, Seat Arona, Skoda Kamiq, Toyota Yaris Cross, Volkswagen T-Cross, and Renault Captur.
Our Citroen C3 Aircross review covers:
The Citroën C3 Aircross has a funky family SUV design which sets it apart from its rivals on the road. Its quirky style appeal boasts a boxy shape, and chunky black bumper cladding gives it additional SUV character. The C3 Aircrosses dual chromed chevrons also widen towards the LED headlamps, offering enhanced vision and safety.
Inside the Citroën C3 Aircross, there are many hard plastics in the cabin, but generally pretty stylish. As for space, there isn't a huge amount of legroom for taller adults in the rear, even with the sliding rear bench pushed back. However, it's relatively comfortable for smaller passengers to sit side by side in the back as the seats are mounted relatively high up, and there's no hump on the floor for the central passenger to straddle.
As for boot space, if you want a small SUV with a big boot, the C3 Aircross is a great option offering a 410-litre boot, which expands to 1,289 litres with all rear seats down. It's longer and taller than the Seat Arona boot. However, the Skoda Kamiq and Ford Puma might be better alternatives if you are after more space.
The Citroën C3 Aircross is reasonably well equipped for its interior. Entry-level models come with great infotainment features with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, wired Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay systems, which you can effortlessly load up navigation, podcasts, and music from your smartphone. However, the system isn't always the most responsive.
The interior inside the C3 Aircross is also stylish as it's been designed to be interesting to look at rather than purely functional, from the Art Deco air vents to the silver accents below the touchscreen. However, in terms of quality, it could be improved, as the interior plastics are only slightly better in quality than those found in the Ford Puma or Skoda Kamiq.
Four trim levels are available: C-Series Edition, Shine, Shine Plus and Rip Curl
C-Series Edition models have rear parking sensors, automatic air conditioning, and tinted rear windows. Cruise control also comes as standard.
Shine models come with alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel, rev-counter and a gear lever. There are also electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors.
Shine Plus models add 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and start, front foglights with cornering illumination, privacy glass and a pull-out boot floor.
Rip Curl models come with 16-inch alloy wheels, a blue and grey interior trim, automatic headlights, LED daytime running lights and blue-painted mirror caps. It also has an aluminium-effect rear bumper protector, a leather steering wheel, tinted rear windows, cruise control, air conditioning and rear parking sensors.
Citroën offers the C3 Aircross with threes three engine choices, with two petrol and one diesel to choose from.
There is two 1.2 turbo petrol with 110hp and 130hp and a 1.5-litre diesel with 110hp.
The most popular option is the 110bhp petrol with the six-speed manual gearbox, as it's punchy enough for simple commuting within the city and quiet out on the motorway.
The Citroën oC3 Aircross is also great to drive with excellent visibility, a soft-ish suspension set-up, and lightweight controls all combine to make the C3 Aircross a very comfortable, easy-going car to drive around town.
Prices for the new Citroen C3 Aircross start from £19,705.00 OTR* or to lease from £191.14 per month.
