Why Lease The Mustang Mach-E?
Ford Mustang Mach-E Review 2021
Combining the distinguished Mustang name from the 1960s with a modern SUV body and a fully electric powertrain, the all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E is an exciting addition to the Ford range.
Ford Mustang Mach-E review covers:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Key Features
- Stylish exterior with shark nose profile, strong rear fenders and three-bar tail light
- 379-mile range on a full charge
- DC high-power fast charge capability
- 502-litre boot, which expands to 1,420 litres
- Numerous models available, including Mach-E, AWD, First Edition and GT
Design and Practicality
Ditching the traditional, muscular styling, big V8 engine and rear-wheel-drive layout of the original Mustang, the Mach-E boasts a beautifully sculpted design with its shark-nose profile, strong rear fenders and three-bar tail light.
Inside, the Mach-E boasts enough space for five adults to sit comfortably, although visibility isn't ideal due to the sloping coupe-style roofline, limiting the driver's view. Thankfully, Ford has acknowledged this and fitted a rear view camera and front and rear parking sensors as standard across the range.
As for boot space, the Mach-E offers an impressive 502-litre boot which expands to 1,420 litres with the rear seats down. Yet, while the second row folds completely flat, overall interior space doesn't quite match some of its rivals, such as the Tesla Model X, which has an 894-litre boot and much more room inside for passengers.
Interior and Trims
Inside, Ford has done an excellent job on the Mach-E's interior, with a functional layout and responsive infotainment system. The materials inside are brilliant, beating rivals such as the Volkswagen ID 4 when it comes to outright build quality.
In terms of trim levels, the standard Mustang Mach-E comes well-equipped with next-generation Ford SYNC, LED projector headlights, 360-degree camera, wireless charging pad, panorama roof and 18" alloy wheels.
The Mach-E AWD and the First Edition both come with custom body kits, including red brake callipers, adaptive LED Mustang signature headlights, dark headliner, and perforated SENSICO seat covers with red/blue stitching trim and 19" alloy wheels.
The top-of-the-range Mach-E GT model includes unique driver and passenger sport seats, grey perforated suede-like fabric seat trim and 20" cast alloy wheels.
Power and Performance
Under the bonnet, the Mach-E and Mach-E AWD come with a 75.7 kWh battery as standard, offering a range of 273 miles or 248 miles, respectively. You can, however, get an extended range 98.7 kWh battery, which gives you 379 miles or 335 miles, respectively.
The First Edition and GT models come with a 98.7 kWh battery as standard, which gives you a range of 335 miles for the First Edition model and 310 miles for the GT model.
While the Mach-E is not the most comfortable to drive, it offers the best mix between performance and SUV practicality. The steering feels a bit tough, but you can definitely get a taste of its sports car heritage when you put your foot down as it grips to the road well.
