Power & Performance
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in five trim levels – Laredo, Limited, Limited Plus, Overland and Summit. Fitted with the 3.0 litre Diesel V6 engine, all models have an output of 247bhp apart from the entry-level Laredo, which produces 188bhp.
The improved eight-speed automatic transmission is fully electronic, fitted with software that recognises driving conditions and performance requirements before choosing from over 40 individual shift maps for the smoothest possible gear change. With the addition of an Eco Mode, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee is up to 10% more efficient in terms of fuel consumption, with a 9% improvement in CO2 emissions.
If you want more power, there's also a 6.4 litre V8 HEMI SRT petrol option, which produces 461bhp and generates up to 624Nm torque. To ensure that you retain complete control at high speeds, this model is also fitted with electronic limited slip differential on the rear axle, active damping high-performance suspension and performance tuned steering.
Driving Technology
Across the new Jeep Grand Cherokee range are an advanced host of technologies designed to optimise performance on the most demanding of terrains. The Selec-Terrain system lets you choose from five modes for optimum traction on a range of surfaces – snow, mud, sand and rock – with a default Auto setting for everyday driving.
Depending on the trim level, traction is further enhanced through the Quadra-Trac II or Quadra-Drive II 4WD systems, whilst the Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension lets you choose from five height settings. Set it high for the rough and rugged trails before riding low for city cruising and parking.
Other driver assistance systems include Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Forward Collision Warning with crash mitigation, the ParkView Back Up Camera with ParkSense, and the updated UConnect System, which gives you integrated and intuitive control of many infotainment systems. Bluetooth Connectivity is fitted as standard.
New for the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the personalised instrument cluster, a fully-customisable 7” multiview display with class-leading TFT technology. Standard across the range, this system lets you choose exactly the information you want to see, be it your speed, your route, your traction settings or your ride height.
