After one year of having my Sportage, I still absolutely love it. It's a massive leap forward over the previous model with loads of kit, plenty of performance and very very comfortable for the 4 of us. Couldn't recommend highly enough

Nice car. Easy driving. Not as fuel efficient as I thought a hybrid would be averaging 40mpg so far. Mostly short journeys though. Anything over 60 mph also drinks petrol. But it’s a v nice place to be and a simple drive even with all the bells and whistles.

Much of the time I've had this vehicle, the partical filter warning lights have been on. I put it to my local garage who checked out the car and told me nothing was wrong but charged me £40 nevertheless. I took my car into the local Kia dealer in Coatbridge who told me to run the car for about 20 minutes on the motorway ay 6000 revs and this should clear the problem. I was told they could clear it for me but it would cost me £200. I reluctantly booked the car in because it didn't feel comfortable driving the car at this level of revs and its very seldom at the age of 68 that I do motorway driving. The garage however, waived the charge which came as a relief but a few weeks later, the warning lights were back on. The explanation I was given this time was that a software update was required. I'm just back from holiday so I haven't had the chance to do this yet. All my driving consists of frequent but relatively short distances. Had I known this would create an issue, I would have made a different choice of vehicle. I also dislike the feature that forces the vehicle to stay in lane and I've had a few frights when this kicks in. When I remember, I switch this feature off every time I drive the car and I'm not sure if it can be disabled. I've checked the manual but it's like trying to read the telephone directory. I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross previously and the rain sensors were much more effective than on this Kia. Apart from these few gripes, overall the car is fine.

The over the top "safety" features that you cannot permanently turn off make this otherwise excellent car a frustrating experience.

I love having an automatic car, it’s easy to drive. With hybrid it’s so quiet and comfortable
