I have had an issue regarding the battery on this vehicle. After owning the vehicle for 10 months, it wouldn't start and roadside assistance was required. The same isse recurred about 3 weeks later and the roadside assistance fixed the issue and suggested taking the vehicle to a Mazda garage to check the battery. No problem was identified by the garage and they told me I had to drive the car more as it was "designed for people who do more miles" Issues I have with this: It seems coutneintuitive to have to gratuitously drive a car for no reason epsecially if you have chosen a hybrid car to try and be more green Why was a 5000 mile pa lease available on this car if it needs to be driven more than that I have had cars previously and covered similar low mileage without battery issues (hybird and regular cars) A few weeks later I experienced a thrid breakdown with the same issue. The breakdown mechanic provided me with a print out to say the car had a poor cell that needed replacing. As the car was due a service, I mentioned this and asked if a new battery could be fitted under warranty. On arriving at the garage for the service I was advised that although they could service the vehicele, a separate appt would be needed to test the battery as they could not use the roadside mechanics print out. A further appt was made and a new battery installed. And was still advised to drive the car more (which I find ridiculous) I would like to point out that all interactions I have had with staff at Mazda roadside assistance helpdesk, roadside tech and the Hendy garage ahve been good - they are all very helpful people. Overall, I am disappointed that there was not much enthusiaism to sort out the problem by Hendy, and I felt that they considered it to be my fault for not driving enough. I would definitely not lease this make of vehicle again.
