A comfortable and welcoming interior, a pleasure to sit inside and drive the CX-5. No faults / problems with the car, just gone through it’s first service with no concerns. Downsides are: SatNav came with out of date maps (the M74 extension was finished years ago but wasn’t there), gearbox not the smoothest particularly first gear and pulling away from stationery can require some precision otherwise some wheel spin / loss of traction, the fuel economy is disappointing (36.9 mpg) considering I travel fairly flat sections of motorway much of the time, and fairly gutless engine when you need it (e.g. very slow acceleration with foot to the floor from speeds of around 40/50 when trying to overtake on motorway, but picks up after 60ish). We’d maybe go for the same car again but with automatic transmission and turbo diesel; our last car was a turbo diesel automatic Land Rover Discovery, so it’s hard not to compare.

The petrol engine feels lazy unless given plenty of revs, really needs to be turbocharged. Ride is soft and wallowing. No CarPlay as standard.
