The MGS9 PHEV is MG's first venture into the seven-seater market, and they've got off to the best possible start. A big and versatile plug-in hybrid, the MGS9 comes with three rows of seats, over 1,000 litres of boot space, and an electric range of up to 62 miles. Whether it's the school run or a fully loaded road trip, it's a car that just gets on with it.
Under the bonnet, a 1.5-litre petrol engine pairs with a 24.7kWh battery, so most of your daily driving can be done on electric alone. When you need more, the petrol engine kicks in, making long journeys completely stress-free.
Inside, every MGS9 PHEV comes standard with 20-inch alloys, a panoramic roof, heated seats, and twin 12.3-inch displays. Choose between Comfort and Premium trims, both packed with features you'd usually pay extra for elsewhere.

MG quotes 62 miles of EV-only range on the WLTP cycle. That's enough to cover most daily commutes and school runs without using any petrol.
It depends on your configuration. With all seven seats up, you get 332 litres, roughly the same as a VW Polo. Fold the third row down and that jumps to 1,026 litres. Drop both rear rows flat and you're looking at a cavernous 2,093 litres, plenty for flat-pack furniture, bikes, or a very ambitious camping trip.
Using a 7kW home wallbox, you're looking at around four hours for a full charge from empty. The S9 doesn't support DC rapid charging, so you won't be topping up at motorway services in 20 minutes.
