I have previously leased 2 Nissan Qashqai petrol, manual gearbox cars, so I am well aware of the general capability, engineering and comfort. This time I leased an Epower hybrid, with semi automatic gearbox and I think it is a fabulous car. I certainly would not go back to the petrol only (manual or auto) Qashqai. The car is spacious and comfortable. It is a smooth and efficient drive, with excellent power from a standing start. The fuel consumption is better than I got on the petrol only version. It is also a good looking car and is pretty good value for money.

Cruise control is probably my favourite feature. It's smooth, reliable, and takes the edge off long drives. Lane assist is helpful too, but the beeping can become excessive, so I often end up turning it off. One major annoyance is the 10-second hands-on-wheel warning. Even when my hands are firmly on the wheel, it sometimes starts beeping until I jiggle the steering. At 70 mph, that’s not ideal from a safety perspective. The head unit software is where most of the frustration lies. It's really inconsistent, especially with Google Maps, Apple CarPlay, and WhatsApp calls. Sometimes, when a WhatsApp call ends, the screen freezes with the call stuck on display. I lose the radio, CarPlay, and hands-free functionality. The only fix is to pull over, turn off the car, and reset the head unit. That’s not always practical. I've done long-distance drives without radio or sat nav simply because I didn’t have time to stop. This part isn't necessarily the vehicle’s fault, but in hindsight, I think I would have chosen something slightly bigger for a bit more space and comfort.

Next time I would look to see a model that has multiple memory seating position for the drivers seat

No load hooks on tailgate door. Parcel tray too deep at the front edge to allow golf bag in without scraping/snagging the bag. Dash switches should be back lit.(might be on new model) Configuration of the touch screen could be better and screen bigger as per Cupra Formentor. Wonderful seat. Cut down leg room in rear to make boot space bigger or moveable rear seat as per VW Tiguan.
