John Peugeot 2008 Crossover 1.2 PureTech Signature (Start+Stop) *Incl. Metallic Paint*
A car for just me for work and general running around, just fine. Boot space isn't huge, a full shopping load would need the seats folded down, but big enough for my needs. For a small totally non-performance car it still handles fine and without the feeling of much roll around bends, feels quite sturdy and safe. Fuel efficiency is quite good but haven't worked it out manually, there's no computer info on avg mpg or the likes. I'm 5'8" and I've plenty of room all in, but the slope of the door frame can bump the head if you forget when climbing in. In-vehicle tech is ok, mostly aimed at phone/music use but it does have screen colour/theme change, iPhone apps, Android mirror, usb connectivity. Connecting my iPhone to listen to Spotify using the usb cable can be a pain. It usually connects to Bluetooth rather than usb, but it does connect to usb first sometimes. Not a problem for most but when it connects to Bluetooth to listen to music, my gapless mixed music plays with gaps in it. Not so good when listening to downloaded mixes. To fix it, the cable needs to be unplugged and plugged in again then a weird combination of opening and closing Spotify to get it usb connected. Not the official fix, no logic or science behind my method but it works. When using the iPhone apps view on the screen, it's waaaaaay to bright at night even with the limited settings to lower screen brightness.. So distracting, might as well have the interior light on. Only way to resolve it is switch off the system or change view to radio view. Sound system is great, no complaints. The car has small annoying rattles from day one, but I'm over that now and accept it. Steering wheel is small and really precise, one of my favourite features. Easy to read dashboard with the 'eye view' design. Glove box is just tiny. Probably holds half a pair of latex gloves at best. Power - not the worst small engine with one person in it, 3rd gear normal rev range is ok but other than that it wouldn't pull your trainer socks off in a hurry. From day one, I've made sure my overtakes on motorways are well considered as it just has no oomph in 5th gear (no 6th gear). Don't expect people to be nice to you (I find), it's a grey bland small car which must be overtaken at every opportunity by everybody on the road. Driving at 30mph in this car, people can't handle it. Doing 30mph in my Mondeo, they accept it just fine. Do I like the car? Yes, quite a lot to be fair. My last rental was a high spec range of Mondeo TX and my favourite car of all time, so from that to much more basic and really liking it can't be bad. Would I lease it again? Personally, probably not. I originally leased it for it's low monthly cost to help me improve my finances at the time. When I can afford it I'll go for something a bit more my preference in luxury options, less bland and bigger. Value for money, excellent. If you're ok with the the things in my review, I'd recommend it for sure.
