The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe is an iconic sports car that looks and feels the part. Coming with a timeless design, exhilarating performance, and luxurious interior, the 911 Carrera Coupe appeals to those who want to have some fun on the road.

Design, Practicality and Boot Space

The 911 Carrera Coupe exterior design is fantastic to look at. At the front, there's a long, flat bonnet complemented by circular headlights, while at the rear, there's a sloping roofline that finishes with a full light strip across the back.

There are four seats in the 911 Carrera Coupe; however, it's best to sit in the front if you're an adult. There you'll find a good amount of head and legroom and plenty of seat adjustment. Less can be said about the rear; the seats are quite small, and there isn't much headroom due to the sloping roof. However, at least there are four seats, unlike in the F-Type Coupe

Boot space in the 911 Carrera Coupe is surprisingly generous; there's a 132-litre luggage compartment under the bonnet and storage behind the rear seats up to 264 litres. However, if you plan on needing space for a few weekends away, look towards the larger M8 Coupe.

Interior and Trims

Get behind the wheel of the 911 Carrera Coupe, and you'll find a sporty cabin that's littered with high-quality materials. The dashboard feels well put together and sturdy, and you get a leather steering wheel and sports seats. It’s better than the F-Type Coupe but falls short of the ultra-luxurious LC Coupe

The technology in the 911 Carrera Coupe fits into the interior design like a glove. On the dashboard, there's a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has a DAB radio, an eight-speaker audio system, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Behind the steering wheel is a central analogue rev counter in the middle of two seven-inch digital displays showing all the essential car information.

Seven trim levels are available: 911 Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera T, Carrera S, Carrera 4S, Carrera GTS, and Carrera 4GTS.

The standard 911 Carrera has 19/20-inch wheels, LED lights, an auto-deploying rear spoiler, two-zone automatic climate control, four-way adjustable sports seats, heated front seats, a smooth leather steering wheel, auto start/stop, 'Porsche' lettering integrated into the taillight strip, front and rear park assist, cruise control, and pedestrian protection.

Carrera 4 is pretty much the same as the standard Carrera, but it comes with four-wheel drive.

T adds 20/21-inch wheels, a 911 Carrera T' decorative side logo in Agate Grey, lightweight and noise-insulated glass, sports seats Plus, and a seven-speed manual gearbox.

S and four-wheel drive 4S has a 444bhp twin-turbo flat-six petrol engine.

GTS features forged alloy wheels with central locking in Satin Black, four-way electrical sports seats, a lowered sports suspension, a SportDesign package exterior, interior LED lighting, a race-tex interior package in black, and a more powerful version of the 3.0-litre engine.

The range-topping 4GTS is the same as the GTS but with all-wheel drive.

Power and Performance

The 911 Carrera Coupe has a flat-six petrol engine that's mounted in the back of the car and comes in a range of power outputs. Depending on the model, you get either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission or a seven-speed manual transmission.

The entry-level variant is the 380bhp version, which has a top speed of 182mph and achieves 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds. Upgrade to the Carrera S or 4S, and power output increases to 443bhp while it shoots from 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds.

The quickest two variants are the GTS and 4GTS, which increase power output to 473bhp and complete 0-62mph in a mere 3.3 seconds.

Porsche gives the 911 Carrera Coupe an official fuel economy of 24 - 26mpg, but expect the real-world economy to be closer to the late teens.

On the road, the 911 Carrera Coupe is one of the most engaging sports cars out there. It's great to drive in all conditions, and its light steering and excellent road grip (especially with all-wheel drive) give you confidence when driving at speed.

Even with it being a performance-based car, the 911 Carrera Coupe is great to drive around town. There's plenty of visibility out the front and back, and its impressive turning circle makes navigating tight roads and car parks a breeze. If you want more help around town, you can add the ParkAssist pack and a 360-degree camera for extra cash.

As you increase the speed, the 911 Carrera Coupe does an excellent job dealing with bumps in the road. The engine is also pretty quiet; however, this is countered by a good amount of road noise that makes longer journeys slightly more annoying.

Get on a country road, and the 911 Carrera Coupe is fantastic. It's easy to control on slippery roads, and the steering is well-weighted, giving you the confidence to corner at speed. On top of this, the brakes are superb, which makes for an all-round good experience.
