Rivals to the Seat Leon Hatchback include the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf and Audi A3.

  • Comfortable Interior

Cons:

  • Rear Visibility

  • Limited All-Wheel Drive Availability

Design, Practicality and Boot Space

The design of the new Seat Leon Hatchback is one of its standout features. The car boasts a modern and sleek exterior with clean lines and an aggressive front fascia. The LED headlights and taillights add a touch of sophistication while providing excellent visibility. The overall design language is sporty and dynamic, appealing to those who appreciate a contemporary look.

Seat Leon Hatchback Exterior

Practicality is an area where the Seat Leon Hatchback excels. Despite its sporty appearance, the hatchback offers ample space for both passengers and cargo. The spacious interior comfortably accommodates five adults, providing adequate legroom and headroom in both the front and rear seats. The rear seats can be folded down in a split configuration, allowing for versatile cargo arrangements. This flexibility is especially useful for transporting larger items while still providing seating for passengers.

The boot space in the Seat Leon Hatchback is impressive for its class. With the rear seats in their upright position, it offers a capacity of 380 litres. This is sufficient for everyday grocery shopping, luggage for short trips, or everyday commuting needs. However, the real advantage comes into play when the rear seats are folded down. By doing so, the boot space expands significantly, providing approximately 1,100 litres of cargo capacity.

Interior and Trims

The interior of the new Seat Leon Hatchback is designed to provide a comfortable and premium driving experience. The cabin features high-quality materials and a clean, modern layout that exudes a sense of refinement. The overall design is driver-centric, with essential controls and functions placed within easy reach.

The hatchback is equipped with a user-friendly infotainment system that includes a touchscreen display. The system supports various connectivity options, such as Bluetooth, USB, and smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto). Depending on the trim level, the screen size and available features may vary, but overall, the system offers intuitive controls and easy access to entertainment and navigation features.

The Seat Leon Hatchback typically comes with a modern climate control system that allows passengers to set individual preferences for temperature and airflow, ensuring a comfortable interior environment regardless of the weather outside.

Four trim levels are available: SE, SE Dynamic, FR and FR Sport.

The base Leon SE trim comes with an 8.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with Bluetooth and DAB radio. LED headlights, air conditioning, rear parking sensors, front and rear electric windows, keyless start, heated electric door mirrors, and 16-inch wheels are also included.

Moving up to the SE Dynamic models, you'll find a 10-inch voice-controlled infotainment system with satnav featuring live traffic updates and a digital driver's display. Additionally, this trim adds front parking sensors and 17-inch wheels.

The sporty-looking FR model within the FR range stands out with its deeper bumpers, flat-bottomed leather steering wheel, and sports suspension. It also introduces a drive mode selector with options like Normal, Sport, Eco, or Individual. The FR trim includes 3-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, four USB sockets, dynamic turn signals, and electrically folding door mirrors.

For those seeking an even sportier appearance, the FR Sport comes with 18-inch wheels and 'microsuede' upholstery on the seats. The front seats and steering wheel are heated, and the electrically adjustable driver's seat and door mirrors feature memory settings. The rest of the specifications remain similar to the regular FR trim.

Power and Performance

Seat has a variety of petrol and diesel engine options available to cater to different drivers' needs. Among these options, the 150hp 1.5-litre petrol engine stands out as the best overall choice due to its lively performance, smooth operation, and reasonable fuel efficiency. However, for individuals covering higher mileage, diesel engines may be more suitable.

Additionally, the Seat Leon Hatchback offers a plug-in hybrid variant, which is worth considering for those who frequently drive in urban areas and have access to charging facilities. The hybrid's electric motor proves most efficient in city driving conditions.

Seat Leon Hatchback Interior

Regardless of the engine choice, all versions of the Seat Leon have light steering, enhancing manoeuvrability in tight city streets. Its tight turning circle makes it particularly adept for city driving. However, it is essential to note that visibility could be improved, and parking sensors become valuable aids when manoeuvring in confined spaces.

Overall, the Seat Leon Hatchback impresses with its stylish design, well-crafted interior, and exhilarating performance. It's a practical and attractive choice for those seeking a compact car that doesn't compromise on features or driving pleasure. With a range of engine options and advanced safety and infotainment technologies, the Seat Leon Hatchback stands out as a compelling offering in the competitive hatchback market. Whether you're a daily commuter or an enthusiastic driver, the Seat Leon Hatchback is definitely worth considering.

Leasing vs Buying

The Seat Leon Hatchback is now available for purchase at a starting on-the-road price of £28,220.00*, or it can be leased with monthly payments starting from £272.49.

I think the parking sensors are very sensitive. It keeps beeping even when the other car or object is in distance. Also there is always a warning saying change the car key battery even after 1 month of me getting the car which was new. Also sometimes parking sensors goes off by itself which is very annoying.

Only dislike is the section of the touch screen for the front heating and volume does not illuminate so can’t see it of a night time but thankfully it her are various ways round that, so it’s more of a niggle. But the one I do not like and consider dangerous is the ‘lane assistant, it nags you even if you are not close to the white line or kerb, when It tries to steer for you it turns in too sharply and too early, if you go to across the white line to pass a cyclist or parked vehicle it tries to stop you from doing so and as you approach a roundabout which splits into two lanes it will try to take you into the right hand lane. Not very clever and the first thing I turn off ( has to be done every time you start the engine) which is easy but should be an option to permanently turn off, also means it changes the digital cockpit display which then has to be reset to the view I prefer

Really pleased overal. Some minor technology issues with the infotainment console have been in contact with Seat. Appears to be an issue across the VW Audi range - this is the only thing stopping me from giving it a 5* review.

Although in infotainment is very high tech, it is slow and seems almost too high tech for its own good. Delayed when pressing things on screen. The volume and aircon controls NEED to light up when driving at night. It’s impossible to see them

The only thing I don't really like is having most on the controls on the touch screen. I find it very distracting to use whilst driving.
