Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer Exterior

The practicality of the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer is one of its key strengths. It is designed to cater to the needs of families and individuals who require versatility and functionality from their vehicle. The cabin offers ample space for both the driver and passengers, with generous legroom and headroom in both the front and rear seats. This ensures that even taller occupants will find the car comfortable for long journeys. Additionally, the inclusion of various storage compartments throughout the cabin adds to the overall convenience.

The boot space in the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer is impressively large, making it an ideal choice for those who require generous cargo capacity. It offers a substantial amount of storage space, allowing you to easily accommodate luggage, groceries, sports equipment, and more. The exact boot capacity can vary depending on the specific model and configuration, but it typically ranges from around 608 litres to 1,636 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Interior and Trims

The interior of the new Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer is designed to provide comfort, convenience, and a premium feel. The cabin boasts high-quality materials, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a well-executed layout. The seats are comfortable and supportive, making long journeys enjoyable for both the driver and passengers. The overall design is clean and uncluttered, with intuitive controls and easy-to-read gauges.

Depending on the trim level and optional packages chosen, the Astra Sports Tourer offers a range of interior features and amenities. These may include leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and power-adjustable seats with memory settings. Additionally, ambient lighting and premium finishes can enhance the overall ambiance of the cabin.

Three trim levels are available: Design, GS and Ultimate

Design models come with various features such as all-round LED lights, parking sensors, 16-inch alloys, and black window mouldings. Inside the vehicle, there are 40/20/40 split rear seats, an adjustable boot floor, two 10.0-inch screens, electronic climate control, and cloth upholstery.

GS version of the Astra Sports Tourer showcases black exterior detailing, complemented by black 17-inch alloys, tinted rear windows, a contrast black roof, and a 360-degree camera system. Inside the cabin, notable additions include sports pedals, dual-zone climate control, a black headlining, adaptive cruise control, and similar practical systems found in the Design trim.

The Ultimate model of the Astra, apart from the performance-oriented GSe variant, introduces larger 18-inch grey diamond cut wheels compared to the regular range. It also features a head-up display, lane positioning technology, lane change assist, Intellilux LED headlamps, and an array of other safety technologies. Enhancing the interior ambiance are Alcantara seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a soundproofed insulated windscreen. Additionally, the Sports Tourer variant benefits from a powered tailgate and high gloss black roof rails.

Power and Performance

The current lineup of the Astra Sports Tourer includes various engine options. There are petrol engines available with power outputs of 110hp and 130hp, a 130hp diesel engine, and a petrol plug-in hybrid with 180hp. The 110hp petrol engine is offered with a six-speed manual transmission, while the 130hp petrol, diesel, and PHEV variants come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

When it comes to comfort, the Astra Sports Tourer impresses. It effectively absorbs bumps on the road, with only a minimal amount of impact felt at lower speeds. The cabin is refined, with limited wind noise entering even at higher speeds.

While it may not be the most thrilling car to drive, the Astra Sports Tourer does offer direct steering and the additional power from the hybrid motor provides a noticeable boost when exiting corners. The transition between all-electric and petrol drive is also seamless and smooth.

In conclusion, although the Astra Sports Tourer may not be the most exhilarating option available, it is certainly worth considering, especially for those in need of an estate car with its practicality and comfort.

Leasing vs Buying

The new Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer is available to purchase with an on-the-road price starting from £27,995.00* or to lease with monthly payments starting from £234.74.

Paul Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer 1.4T 16V 150 Elite Nav

Driving the vehicle is great and very comfortable, smooth and quiet. The DAB radio and Sat nav system are excellent as is the Bluetooth. My only complaints are that the ancillary belt shredded after 10000 miles but was replaced under warranty. I would have another Astra router but would want the crash avoidance system that is standard on the SRi version and would also like parking sensors as standard. The electric handbrake is fabulous and I wouldn't want to go back to a normal handbrake now. Cruise control I use everyday and we all like the heated front and rear seats. I love the heated steering wheel too. Biggest criticism would be the vehicles inability to perform in the snow. Even a slight incline is too much for it on the standard tyres which forced me to walk to work on one day. I put this down to the alloy engine. All good for efficiency and fuel economy but awful when you want some weight over the front wheels for grip

The Elite model has a strange mix of features, for example it has a heated steering wheel (which is brilliant) but no parking sensors.
