Like the electric motor very much, with no range anxiety and seamless switch between power sources. But... today range shows 38 miles, in the cold it's down to 16! Don't like having to do an oil change service so often, especially as a lot of journeys are electric only. All the short runs that are so bad for a petrol engine don't apply, so why don't those journeys get ignored by the car computer? Satnav is excellent.

Some of the driver assist features can be a bit buggy sometimes and we have had issues with the original order and related customer service which are on file somewhere and now resolved but the car itself is otherwise fine. We haven’t had our first service yet so I’m not able to accurately score servicing and repairs.

Not as comfortable as expected. Too much reliance on online settings.

The Tiguan is proving to be a really practical car, well thought out in its design for day to day use with all friends and family who've been in it saying how great it is. From a driving perspective it’s easy to drive with more than enough creature comforts but there is one major issue. Since new the gear change from 1st to 2nd is horrendous with it frequently crunching if I do anything other than pull away, dip the clutch, wait for the revs to drop, carefully go into 2nd then lift the clutch. I reported this to VW Kidlington who took the car in and their report states this is 'harmonics in the gearbox' so confirming in 2022 VW cannot built a gearbox that changes gear smoothly when cold. I contacted VW customer services who just put me back in touch with the dealer. In short the cars great but totally ruined by a bad gearchange issue that VW say is acceptable but this experience means I wont be leasing another VW.

Really disappointed with this car. We did have a tiguan diesel and chose this 1.5 petrol to save fuel , but its had the opposite effect. We can watch our fuel gauge go down!! Its awful and very under powered. It also developed a leak and we had a pool of water in the rear foot well. It was covered under the warranty, but the whole interior had to come out and the car is not the same. It also fogs up when parked. The worst car I have ever owned!!!!
