Pros: B3 engine is responsive and although the least powerful engine in the range never feels underpowered. Automatic gearbox is quick to react. Occasionally hesitates but not enough to be annoying (like Audi). Handling is great for normal driving - it is not designed to be a performance car so I wasn’t expecting a BMW type experience, which it certainly does not do. Driver seat is super-adjustable and very comfortable. Controls take a bit of getting used to - light controls are over complicated on a single control stick. Infotainment system has large on screen buttons - I dislike touchscreens but this is the best I have used. The description of the car features was misleading and suggested Apple Carplay was included, in the end I had to contribute towards this separately. Apple Carplay does not use the entire screen, so it is a bit small, but certainly usable and works reliably. Standard audio package sounds a bit cheap at times - it lacks depth and bass. Bootspace is OK - for big family trips with the dog we would need a roofbox, but works for everyday family use. Overall the car has been better than expected. Customer service at my local Volvo dealer (Waylands Oxford) is very good - but trying to book a service in the first place is very difficult as they are unresponsive to phone, email and web enquiries.

Volvo controls are just not german enough, you change the drive mode to Eco, and it gets reset every time you start the car!. Too much controlled through the touch screen, which is difficult when driving.

Generally a practical and comfortable car. Performs well and is reasonably fuel efficient. The fuel gauge and miles to refill are woefully inaccurate and can't be relied upon. Because most controls are based around the digital display, changing something as simple the heaters requires the driver to take their eyes off the road for too long - this is potentially dangerous.

Good reliable car - we are a one car family. We have two car seats and will be getting a guide dog imminently - don't think this car will be big enough for all our requirements, so next car will have to think about slightly bigger - but comfortable to drive.
