New Car Releases for 2024
The automotive industry has had an interesting few years, to say the least. Events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine posed serious threats to the industry, but manufacturers stood firm, and we've come out with bright prospects for the future.
As a result, 2024 has some really exciting things in store for car lovers in the UK. Manufacturers are transitioning to electric vehicles while also continuing to produce economical combustion-engineered cars, meaning there will be loads of choice in 2024.
If you're in the market for a new ride this year, car leasing experts Nationwide Vehicle Contracts have compiled a list of some of the 12 most exciting cars hitting our roads in 2024.
From new manufacturers to ridiculously modern tech, take a look at the list below:
An all-electric crossover, the Cupra Tavascan shares a lot of its underpinnings with the Cupra Born. It comes with a dual-motor four-wheel drive set-up that returns around 300bhp with a range of approximately 275 miles.
The Tavascan will be launched in 2024.
Although kept quiet by Ford, the Puma EV is set to arrive in 2024. Providing drivers with a sustainable alternative to the incredibly popular regular Puma, the Puma EV is another step in the direction of electrification for Ford.
For its design, it's expected that not much will change from the regular Puma. We certainly can't wait to see this one.
The new Puma EV has been kept that quiet, we couldn't even find images of it!
Orders for the new Hyundai Santa Fe open in the first half of 2024, and make sure you get in quick. Proposed to 'expand everyday experience by connecting both city and nature', the fifth generation Santa Fe has a longer wheelbase and enhanced third-row seating that offers one of the most spacious interiors on the market.
We also love the exterior design; it certainly will make an impression!
The first generation all-electric Mini Cooper is currently on sale, with deliveries beginning in 2024. Coming with an all-electric drive that offers up to 250 miles of range and the world's first circular central instrument display, the new Mini Cooper E will offer drivers the perfect blend of tradition and modern technology.
MG plans to go all-electric by 2027, and helping this become a reality is their new two-door electric sports car, the Cyberster. Expected to go on sale in the summer of 2024, the Cyberster combines iconic roadster heritage with modern technologies.
The Cyberster is certainly one to look out for!
Ora has taken to the European market like a duck to water, and hoping to continue the trend is the Ora Next Cat. Set to launch in 2024, the Next Cat will be a four-door saloon version of the Funky Cat. With four-wheel drive, a range of up to 435 miles, and even face-recognition technology, we can't wait to see what the next few years have in store for the Next Cat.
The Polestar 4 is an electric SUV coupe due to launch sometime in 2024. This car is something straight out of Avatar; it looks futuristic, features loads of technology, and will be ridiculously powerful.
Highlights of the Polestar 4 include a massive tablet-like infotainment screen, 3D knit fabric seats made from 100% recycled bottles, and it being the fastest production car Polestar has ever made (0-62mph in 3.8 seconds).
The new Renault Scenic E-Tech goes on sale in early 2024, with deliveries expected by the spring. It's a stylish electric SUV that comes with a pair of 12-inch screens on the dashboard and an electric range of more than 379 miles.
The new Renault 5 is one of the most anticipated new car launches for 2024. Tapping into classic Renault heritage intertwined with cutting-edge technology, the 5 is an electric supermini set to rival the MG4.
Renault claims up to 249 miles of range and it comes with rapid-charging technology.
The Smart 3 is the brand's second SUV and goes on sale in early 2024. With a coupe-like design and a fantastic interior, the Smart 3 is set to rival the popular Kia EV6. We're yet to get any technical details from Smart about the battery, but it's expected to be similar to the Smart #1's 66kWh battery with 273 miles of range.
The ID.7 is Volkswagen's first all-electric saloon car and is set to arrive on our roads in early 2024. A practical electric estate car with up to 435 miles of range, the ID.7 is certainly a car to get excited about.
