BYD Shark Lease Deals

The Shark is BYD's first foray into the pickup market, and it's making a serious impression. With all-wheel drive, a Super Hybrid powertrain, and up to 55.9 miles of electric-only range, it's truly living up to the 'Shark' name. 

Under the bonnet, a 436PS system takes the Shark from 0-62mph in just 5.7 seconds. The efficient Super Hybrid setup also brings a combined range of up to 419 miles, drawing from a full battery and a full tank of petrol.

Inside, you'll find a 15.6-inch touchscreen, heated and ventilated front seats, and a head-up display to keep your eyes on the road. The load bed also holds 1200 litres and there's a maximum payload of 790kg.

The Shark's 436PS Super Hybrid system pairs a petrol engine with two electric motors, returning up to 55.9 miles of pure-electric range and a 0-62mph time of just 5.7 seconds. 

Interior and exterior design

At 5.5 metres long, the Shark has real road presence, though its five-seat double cab keeps things practical. Inside, heated and ventilated front seats mean you're comfortable whatever the season, while a head-up display keeps key information in view, so you can stay focused on the road rather than the dashboard.

Practical applications

The Shark's all-wheel drive and Super Hybrid system are designed to handle proper off-road conditions. Its 6.6kW Vehicle-to-Load setup, with two onboard plug sockets, means you can power tools or equipment directly from the car, which is handy if you're working somewhere without easy access to mains power.

Technology overview

The 15.6-inch touchscreen is the largest fitted to any pickup, giving you a clear, modern hub for everything from navigation to vehicle settings. Combined with the head-up display, it's tech that's genuinely useful rather than just for show.

Super Hybrid is BYD's system that pairs a petrol engine with two electric motors, giving the Shark all-wheel drive alongside genuine electric range. It's designed to bring together performance, efficiency, and off-road capability in one setup, rather than making you choose between them.

The Shark's flat rear floor gives all three back-seat passengers proper foot space, along with almost 90cm of legroom and a relaxed 27° seat-back angle. Combine that with the 1200-litre load bay, and there's plenty of room for both people and cargo.
