If you’re looking for a van with a spacious load area that’s capable of carrying large and awkward freight, look no further than a Dropside or a Tipper. Popular with light construction and horticulture businesses, Dropside and Tipper vans are extremely versatile, their open bodies making them ideal for transporting building material and waste. Their flexible side and tailboards also makes light work of loading and unloading.
As the name suggests, a Dropside van is a light commercial vehicle in which you can open and drop the vehicle’s side and tailboards to allow for easy loading. A Dropside’s open flatbed body allows for easy access for forklift trucks and as such, tend to be popular with light construction and scaffolding providers as they make light work of carrying bricks/blocks and heavy metal tubes such as scaffolding poles.
A tipper van is a light commercial vehicle capable of carrying a variety of loads and equipment in its open body. Tippers are equipped with under-floor tipping system which allows you to tip the vehicle body to unload heavy loads at the rear of the vehicle. They tend to be popular with light construction and horticulture businesses because they make transporting building material, loose waste and other items easy.
Volkswagen, Peugeot and Citroen all offer Dropside vans as part of their Light Commercial Vehicle range. You can choose from two different wheelbases, three load bed lengths and two cab sizes to best suit your business needs, with payloads ranging from 1,253kg to 1,441kg.
A number of vehicle manufacturers offer Tipper vans including Citroen, Volkswagen, Ford and Peugeot, with Single Cab or Crew Cabs available, as well as payload ranges from 1,033kg to 1,222kg to carry a variety of loads.
You can lease a Dropside or Tipper van with Nationwide Vehicle Contracts on a Finance Lease agreement or a Contract Hire agreement.
