The Peugeot e-Boxer is a large all-electric van that offers a sustainable solution for businesses needing versatility and practicality. The e-Boxer comes with up to 154 miles of range and up to 15m3 of load volume.
Rivals to the e-Boxer include the Mercedes-Benz e-Sprinter, Renault Master E-Tech, Ford e-Transit, and Citroen e-Relay.
Our Peugeot e-Boxer review covers:
The Peugeot e-Boxer looks like your typical large van. It's boxy, has an aggressive front end, and has small alloy wheels. It looks exactly the same as the regular model, albeit with a charging port located between the front and side sliding doors.
Climb inside the e-Boxer, and you'll find a basic yet comfortable cabin. There's enough room for a driver and two passengers and plenty of storage space to fit all your gadgets and work gear. It's been built for purpose over pleasure.
The e-Boxer is available in two different lengths, providing a load volume of either 13m3 or 15m3. Compared to the original Boxer, payload massively decreases due to the extra weight of the battery, coming in at either 645 or 690kg.
The cabin in the e-Boxer is a blast from the past. It's basically all made from plastic, and although it is easy to use and navigate, a few more premium materials wouldn't go amiss. If you want a better driver experience, go for the Mercedes e-Sprinter.
On the dash, you get a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a DAB radio, integrated satellite navigation, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. It's an okay system that will fit the bill but falls way short of the advanced tech found in the Ford e-Transit.
One trim level is available for the e-Boxer, Professional Premium +.
It has 16-inch wheels, air conditioning, driver's seat with adjustment, a dual passenger bench seat, twin unglazed rear doors, a nearside sliding slide door, a seven-inch colour touchscreen, rear parking sensors, cruise control with variable speed limiter, and ABS braking.
The e-Boxer is available with a 75kWh battery that's paired with a 120hp electric motor to return up to 154 miles of range. It has an automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive.
Although the only powertrain available, it returns a spirited performance that will serve you well both around town and at higher speeds. It uses the same motor you get in the Mercedes e-Sprinter and Fiat E-Ducato and only falls short of the more powerful units available in the E-Transit.
It takes 12 hours to charge the e-Boxer using a 7.4kW charger and one hour using a 50kW DC quick charger,
Where the e-Boxer lacks in interior style, it makes up for it on the road. In urban environments, the e-Boxer excels with its nimble handling and agile manoeuvrability, and the electric powertrain makes accelerating a breeze. You also get rear parking sensors and regenerative braking as standard, which helps to top up the battery as you drive.
Increase it to motorway speeds, and the e-Boxer will be a confident and composed cruiser. The ride is comfortable and deals with bumps in the road well, and the electric drivetrain provides a relatively quiet driving experience.
